Ambiguous Political Statement

I hate when the editor goes stupid and decides it’d rather NOT load. *kick*

Anyway, so today is voting day. Against my desire to boycott everything and have a total "I hate it allllll" stand, I’m going to go vote today. I’ll probably end up in some horrendous line that will piss me off and I have to go see if I have 10 bucks so I can buy my kids dinner rather than trying to cook at 7 or 8 when I finally get in (I just checked and my dumb ass overdrafted 15 bucks. *sigh* I was able to transfer some money from another account that I dont’ even know why it was there and now i’m back in the black, but damn it, that’s 33 dollars I’d rather NOT have spent on overdraft fees. *sigh* at least my kids will get fed tonight and I get paid tomorrow. blah).

I wish I could go vote in the middle of the day, but we only get 2 hours and even that has to be in the most dire of circumstances, like if I still lived in Lancaster I could have probably come in 2 hours late or left 2 hours early because of hte commute.

Whatever. Bah!

So, without risking a lynch mob or having tomatoes thrown at me, I’ll just make ambiguous generalized statements that could be interpreted anyway you feel but I REFUSE to clarify because people take things way too personally.  That includes me. And when people get all "shocked" or "disgusted" or "upset" or whatever when I mention things it really does hurt my feelings. Like personally, when I said I was a republican and people were all agast, it really hurt me and made me wonder why anyone would say "Oh no, you are! I won’t hold it against you!" That was just… mean. As if my political party dictates who I am and makes me believe EVERYTHING and be as extreme as the most extreme. It’s rude and not very nice and I most certainly do not judge people when they say they are any party. It’s like saying because I’m black I must be like the WORST black person, or because I’m white (because i am that too) I must be like the WORST white person. it’s wrong, so it makes me incredibly sensitive towards those remarks. I didn’t hold it against anyone who said it to me, but for a little while I was taken aback and quite offended. I didn’t say anything because there was no reason to. But I guess I have said it now. so now you iknow. So if you really want to gasp and make generalized broad judgements based on my party affiliation, I really DON’T WANT YOUR NOTES. And I reserve the right to say that because this is my space, and since I normally just take all that comes at me, I’ll say now DON’T LEAVE A NOTE IF YOU WANT TO BASH MY VIEWS. Go bash my views on your own diary. I don’t want to hear it. so there… /rant

so here they go.

*I hope he wins. I hope that everyone gets what they want. And then I hope that whatever does happen teaches one side or the other a damned lesson. As a favorite brought up, 4 years won’t TOTALLY ruin our country, so we’ll just see. My vote doesn’t really matter much in Cali, at least not for the president. So blah on whoever I vote for. It’s just a blip on the radar.

*The propositions facing California this year are pretty major. At least a handful of them are HUGEMONGOUS! It will be interesting to see exactly what is going to happen. I have very firm and well thought out opinions and beliefs on them and I will stick to those. That does NOT mean I vote party line, I vote MONIQUE LINE. so there.

*One thing I will say is that a lot of people are ignorant. They don’t read the entire document for themselves and allow a spoon fed opinion. This is wrong for any side of the line. I watched a debate about prop 4 and it just made me laugh how ignorant one side was. Seriously, did they read? Whatever. Information is key. Without knowledge, you’re just a blind idiot running into walls thinking you’re opening a door.

*I will pray for our country.

the end of that!

On a personal note, I had crazy dreams about Baboo last night, at the end of which he left with my kids and I married some old man and was going to get artificially impregnated to have his sons kid.

*blink*

I don’t KNOW.

I wrote almost a full chapter of Trigger on the train last night. As soon as it’s edited and finished I’ll post it. I’m pretty sure I’ll break 5k words today, if not more. If I can do 2k words a day, I’ll definitely complete the challenge. I hope to get at least 5k words done daily. And I hope to finish the story. Not just reach 50k and go YAY! I feel like I’ve seen a really good movie and I want to share it with you!

Ok, so now I shall go work and write and then vote this evening for no damn reason other than the principle of it…

I respect you views. I mean I personally sick of the election all ready.

In case you were wondering – Due to overwhelmingly long lines at voting sites, Obama supporters are asked to please vote on Wednesday. 🙂 I’m ready for this to be over with… I want an upset.

hi. read this. <— now back to chapter 2 since i didn’t read it yet. 🙂

I can’t wait for this to all be over with. Post more story ok? Thanks. <3

I am sick of the election too but I am still going to vote.

I respect your views too, and I’d respect them if they differed more from mine too or didn’t or whatever. You know what irks me about Obama? The man is not ‘black’… he’s biracial. It bothers me to hear people of either race suddenly say he’s ‘black’ because they do or don’t like/identify w/ him when normally they are the same bigots (black or white) who shun interracial people.

And with that statement I mean people in my area, like the kids at Phillip’s school. The same kids who pick on other black kids for being too dark or too light skinned turn around and suddenly Obama is ‘their’ candidate just because he’s black, but they don’t acknowledge that he’s biracial and that they pick on kids with his skin color every other day. It irks me.

One of my sister’s teachers from HS is my friend on MySpace, and she said she was voting for Obama because he reads Toni Morrison. I told her that was like voting for McCain because he watched M.A.S.H. What I respect is when people have real, researched, informed views… who care if someone is black/white/or an avid reader?

Hopefully your wait isnt to long.

RYN: My last entry was supposed to be a ‘tongue-in-cheek’ type poke at the Canadian election process. I wasn’t bashing Obama or McCain. Truthfully, I think either candidate is as competent as any politican can be. I’m not a fan of the whole election process (in either country) mainly b/c I think it’s all smoke & mirrors. I really don’t think it matters WHO is the leader-it’s just a token figure.K

Niq, the note above is not left in a ‘mad’ tone. I know you aren’t mad at me. I just wanted to make the point that I was joking about how we Canadians see the candidates and that the TRUE issues are not even being considered, which is really sad. I hope the best man wins and I hope the new president will bring about many necessary changes to your country. *hug* K
