a long overdue update

I miss this place so terribly. Life is infinitely more complicated when I can’t just hop online to look something up whenever I want. Hopefully, we’ll be getting some satellite internet access next month, but we’ll see.

As far as updates go, how ’bout some bullets?

Chloe turned six last Wednesday. Makes me feel old. And Ben turned four the week before Christmas. It’s insane how quick these kids are growing.
I’m up for a job promotion. I’ve been through three rounds of interviews, and should find out something by the end of next week. It’s a big promotion up to Assistant General Manager. My pay would double, but unfortunately, so would the number of hours I work. Reasonably, I could expect to put in 55-65 hours a week. So, if I win the position, Aaron will be quitting to stay home with the kids. Even without his income, we’ll be coming out ahead financially, plus the bonus of having one of us home full time for the kids. There are downsides, including the drama at work about who is going to get the job, but that will pass. And ideally, I would prefer that I were the one staying home, but as I’m the more employable of the two of us, we just have to do what we have to do. It will also put off some of the photography work I had planned this year, but the extra padding to our bank account will enable to upgrade my equipment finally.
Logan is growing like a weed. He’s finally starting to talk a big and his favorite words are No, Mow (meow) and Choo Choo. He’s a ham, and an exact clone of Aaron, personality wise.

Today, Chloe and I are at Mom’s making her birthday cake for her party tonight. 🙂
