Muse – Random Thoughts (8-31-2003)

Watching the news idly, as I do other things, it becomes harder and harder to believe what is said. The TV announcer says that it is suspected Osama might do some bio/chemical business soon.

I find myself thinking, I’ll believe it when I see it.

They add that Osama is in a stronghold in Afghanistan and that his sons are there, ready to kill him rather than let him get captured. All I can think is, how in the heck can they know this and yet not know where to find him?

Again, I doubt it.

Yes, I was watching Fox News, but I would have thought the same no matter who had aired the information. I’ve grown skeptical of Us intelligence. Ever since the lies on Iraq and Saddam’s weapons, I simply nod to whatever is said and file it in the dusty boxes of my mind just in case there is actually confirmation that the news has been more than just a new load of hot air.

I really like the Hoffman movie theater that I go to, rather than the one at Springfield mall. I pay a little more for the ticket, but the difference in the seats is worth it. Where the Springfield Mall theater has ok seats, the Hoffman theater, besides its 22 screens, has very nice, clean seats that have mobile armrests. When the theater is lightly populated(which is not too uncommon for the early movies I see), I can lift an armrest or two up and stretch out with my shoes off. No one sees and no one cares.

It makes for a more relaxing experience and quite a bit more comfortable. Worth an extra buck or two a week.

I have too much media on my computer, I download pictures all the time and have tens of thousands of them. Comics and other things of interest that I run into online. I suppose if I ever lose my net connection, I won’t be bored with all of the scenery to go through.

Sometimes I delve in to do a little organizing , but I rarely sort through too many. It will likely take me a few years to sort out everything, since I’ve been collecting them for at least that long.

Bah. I’ve had enough image sorting and writing and pondering. Time to play more BloodRayne.

i definitely agree about the news and US intelligence. they’ve cried wolf a few too many times, IMO.

I organize the hell out of all my files. Someday, I may even organize my funnies folder the way I used to organize my porn. *smirks*

The news is a joke. I am listening to the coverage of the Najaf bombing. Every single reporter concludes with, “Of course, the Iraqis are holding the occupiers responsible, for not providing enough security.” Right, they asked every one of the 300,000 mourners walking the 110 mile funeral procession and they all said exactly that. Reporter’s opinions, period.
