Achooooo

‘Scuse me! This stupid sinus/allergy mess is about to get on my last nerves. I’m tired of sneezing (loudly) at the most surprising moments, always being stopped up, and always packing tissues around.  Seriously, enough is enough.  Ok that’s it for whining.

I had my observation today.  I picked Friendly J’s class to do the lesson with (they are the weakest, but the best thinkers).  Bitchy J has them through recess and then I get them.  I went to her today and told her, "You must let them have recess and take them to the bathroom today. "  I reminded her over and over.  My observation was right after recess.  Friendly J and I went out at recess (GORGEOUS day).  Bitchy J never showed up.  I thought, surely that she wouldn’t do that today, but she did.  When we got inside, they still were not out.  (The asst. principal was in my room waiting.)  I went to her door and said I needed the kids.  She told me she wasn’t through with them. I told her I didn’t care, my observation was waiting and I was taking the kids.  Then I told the kids to pack up and follow me (which they did.)  I brought them into the room to put their things down, explained to the asst principal (who was very sweet and told me not to worry about it) and brought them to the bathroom.  While I walked them down the hall Bitchy J stood at her door and kept mouthing, "I’m sorry!! I forgot!"  I just told her it was done, nothing to do about it now.  The lesson itself went really well and the kids did amazing.   (I’m finishing baking them some cookies to enjoy tomorrow because they did so well. Don’t think it’s amazing – it’s turkey sugar cookies.  All I did was dip them in orange sugar and cook them. :D)  Friendly J met me in the hall to ask me how it went and I was telling her how amazing her kids did.  Bitchy J came up in the middle of it and told me that was because she had spent the last 30 minutes of her class bitching at them about not appreciating their teachers and reminding them to be good for my observation.  I just turned to her and asked, "But I thought you forgot my observation??"  She just sputtered her answer and I walked away.  This afternoon she was talking to another teacher and laughing about "causing me stress".  The other teacher looked at her like she was crazy.  (In the past, I never stressed over observations, but with the new evaluation system, a bad score can cause you to lose money or your job.)  The other teacher turned to me and said she hoped I returned the favor on Bitchy J’s observation.  I commented that I would never do that to another teacher and left it at that.  Normally my principal would be there as well, but she had a court case today and missed.  She came in during my class and wanted to see the lesson again because the asst. principal had bragged on it.  Unfortunately, I had just finished teaching the lesson to my class, so she didn’t get to see it.  I’m glad my asst. principal thought well enough to talk about it that way.

This time change is a mixed blessing.  I love that it’s daylight when I leave in the morning (6:15), but I HATE that it’s dark so early.  I wanted to grill some chicken night before last and ended up grilling by flashlight. lol

Man…bitch gotta go. She is deliberately antagonizing you. She didn’t forget–she tried to sabotage your observation. You are handling her beautifully, sure, but you shouldn’t have to! Just let her keep running her mouth where other people can hear her… And it’s awesome that the kids immediately pack up and fall in on your word, no matter what she says! They know what’s up.
