Cold, cold, cold
Before you laugh, yes, I know some of y’all are way colder, but I’m not used to this much cold. 22 this morning when I left, 20 yesterday when I left. 20 freaking degrees. There was no ice on my car, but I could barely get the door open. All I wanted to do was go back in and snuggle up. We had two work days without kids, I love that. It means we truly get to take Christmas off. They let us come in 2 hours later today because of the temperatures. (They said it was in case of icy roads, but really no chance of that. It was nice, though.) We’ll have kids tomorrow, hyped up, full of stories — and too cold to go outside. An elementary teacher’s definition of hell. Ha
I took Tootie out to eat tonight. She leaves Saturday for Jackson Hole. She’s going to blow throught most of her savings with this trip, but really I can’t blame her. This one is probably my fault. Ever since my trip up there (paid for as part of a teacher workshop) I’ve told her and Bubba all about it and how much I’d love to take them. So after years of looking at pictures and hearing stories, she’s going. I’m happy for her. I think she’s going to freeze her skinny little butt off, but I’m happy for her. She also is officially a senior. When she signed up for her classes this time they had changed her designation. Short of an unforseen problem, she will graduate in January. She reminded me that way back there (10 or so years at least) I promised her some sort of trip if she graduated college. I do remember that, but I told her not to expect any sort of trip like she’s been taking. Poor school teachers don’t get to pay for trips like that. lol I’ll work something out, though. I’m so proud of her for sticking it out.
I’m moving a little slower the past couple of days. I bruised my tail bone. I know it’s not broken, but it sure is sore. The way I did it is much too stupid to admit, but I know exactly when I hurt it. So not fun. lol
I’m going to save this before OD changes its mind about behaving. I have a few more of y’all to catch up on. It makes me happy when I sign in and see y’all writing. Coyote Walker said it best when he said this place is home.
I’ve had my Eagles music streaming the past couple of days at work and this song has been playing in my head. One of my favorites. (Not my favorite video of it, but the only one that would load on here.)
Sigh – last try, but at least I keep getting to hear it while trying different embed codes. Maybe OD’s not quite well yet. In case it won’t load – again – it’s the Eagles and Witchy Woman.
I used to write in here alot years ago, with all the problems I stopped. Back agian…. cause memories are important. Does feel like home. I am just a random noter. 🙂

When I get ready to leave in the morning lately, Pudding bounces around hollering meow and then runs and jumps on the bed. She’ll do it multiple times, trying to make sure I get the point: It’s cold out. Get back under the covers and let the kitty in there, too!
