OPM 25 Roller Derby Day

 CBaby and I Went to our first roller derby match tonight. It was fun until my co-worker, who we had gone to support, got hurt. It was the last 2 minutes and she was lead jammer. I missed what happened, but she went down hard. Her coach was standing in front of me when it happened, so I couldn’t see.  Instantly both teams formed a circle around her while they tended to her.  I love her humor.  She was down and hurting and still managed to call out "Thanks, for coming tonight!  I hope you had a good time!  lol She said she ran into another girl and they hit hard.  Something in her back tweaked and she went down.  She’s still hurting, but ok. *edit* Just talked to her.  She said even she isn’t sure what happened.  She and another player slammed into each other and her knee and back both went out.  She can walk this morning, but she’s hurting.  She’s more embarassed that she went down so hard with us there.  She takes a lot of pride in not getting knocked down very much.

It was a halloween bash, the kids wore costumes and the girls all passed out candy. Cbay was a nerd.

Then she met her new hero (my co-worker) who she thinks is the coolest person EVER. 

Her favorite candy giver.  (He was really sweet and gave her special stuff.  He told her she should have won the contest. 🙂

Just a random shot from the end.  Everyone lined up around the track and high fived both teams.  Cbaby was hooked and is ready to go back to another bout. 🙂
