OPM 29
It’s been a hectic few days. Getting ready for a sub Thursday, a conference Thurs through Sat. I was selected as a board member of our state science association and I have to be ready for a meeting with them, as well as a presentation Friday morning. My big observation is Tuesday. I’m getting a new mattress and box springs Sunday. Mine is around 25 years old and probably the cause of my back and shoulder pain. BUT that means I’ve got to really clean my room to get it in.
Crazy times.
We are studying the history of Halloween this week. Today we focused on Halloween in Early America. Tomorrow is Day of the Dead, so I’m making them a treat. I wanted to do sugar skulls, but I would need to find a mold. So, I’m trying candied pumpkin. This is what it looks like so,far. Tomorrow I roll it in sugar before loading it up.

To go with it I have pepitas (pumpkin seeds). They’re in the oven now. This is what they looked like before:

Man…I wish I had time to carve a pumpkin this year. Now, I might buy one just so I can do the seeds.
