Booooo we didn’t go bowling yesterday. He sent me a message at 5 indicating that he got rear-ended at an intersection right by my place and was feeling kind of stiff in his neck, which was making his head hurt. He said that he was going to take an ibuprofen and lay down and said that, depending on how he felt after laying down, he might still be interested in meeting up for a drink. At 7:30 (shortly after I got home from work… more on that in a second) he messaged me again saying that he didn’t think that he was going to be able to make it out.
We texted back and forth over the next couple of hours. I’m hoping that we reschedule something for next week. I’m really intrigued by this guy!
We’ll see.
Work. I could have left as early as 2 yesterday – I had everything done that I needed to have done by 2. Our office was open until 5, though, so I screwed around on my computer until it was time to go. Just as the clock struck 5, we received an e-mail from one of the client teams (we just recently took over ad placement for a huge, well-known movie/tv company that will remain nameless) indicating that they had over a hundred newspaper ads that needed to be sent out that evening to ensure placement in newspapers across the country over the holiday weekend (they have a couple of movies coming out). Anyway, they were waiting on client approval from the client, whose offices are out of Los Angeles (meaning, they’re two hours behind us)… they were in no hurry to get us what we needed even though we were only waiting on them and it was after 5 central time.
We didn’t finally get client approval until 6:45. Are you getting this? I did NOTHING at work from 2 until 5, and then still had to stick around for another hour and forty-five minutes waiting for client approval so that I could send out last minute ads. I did NOTHING. I played around on Pintrest, looking for something to make for dinner and looked through match.com. I read and re-read the newspaper. I facebooked.
It was so lame.
When I got home I made whole wheat linguine with caramelized onions, garlic, mushrooms, and green beans tossed with a little bit of cream, cracked pepper, italian parsley, and some parmigiano (the idea for which was courtesy of Pintrest). It turned out lovely.
I spoke with Dave a bit yesterday as well. He told me of his big weight-loss plan (apparently he bought an exercise bike and has been limiting his calories to 1500-2000 kcal per day by cutting out fast food and limiting his beer intake). He’s apparently lost 6lbs (wouldn’t that be nice?! Men… ugh. They cut out fast food and beer and lose weight. I need to not eat for days at a time to lose weight. AND not be on my birth control. Stupid birth control.).
I think that I’m going to start taking yoga classes again. The other day Shannon mentioned that there is a place right between our respective apartments that is offering $30/month unlimited hot yoga… and I’m extremely interested considering the last place that I was a member of charged $90/month for the same thing. I’ll check it out the next time that I have an available day.
I’m going home for the weekend today! Erin and I are carpooling and I’m bringing along laundry to do. As much as I am excited to go home, I’m totally not in the mood to go. I kind of want to just sit here and do nothing.
Have a great Christmas! Men burn more calories then women, so they loose easier
