Bam.
No word on the job, yet. I’m not worried- they told me at my interview last week that I shouldn’t expect a call until at least mid-week this week. So, I’m just going to continue waiting…
I really think that the interview went well. I was relaxed and gave what I think were good answers to their questions. The women who interviewed me were both really, really nice. My friend Chloe, who works for the company, is already convinced that I’ll get the job. We’ll see!
I got into a car accident yesterday just as I was leaving my apartment to pick Dave up from the airport :(. It wasn’t serious- my car was parked on the side of the street right at a busy intersection. I was leaving my parking spot just as a car took a fast left onto the street that I was parked on… he hit the front left wheel of my car and scuffed/dented the area on the side of my car near the left headlight. He must have hit my tire juuuust right… I think that he broke the tie rod. My wheel was facing the wrong direction and turning the steering wheel did nothing.
The guy seemed shaken up. He kept rambling on and on about random stuff… it was weird. His roommate came shortly after the accident (they live in the building next to mine, as it turns out) and stood with us while I called the cops and gave the guy in the other car my license and insurance information. The guy then showed me his insurance paper (to prove that it was valid), but then refused to let me take down his policy number or the phone number to his insurance agent. He kept saying, "I don’t want my premium to go up!" I explained to him that that’s not how it works- that he can’t take down my info without giving me his- and that’s when things got kind of ugly. He was being really shady. His roommate got impatient with him and said that he had to give me his insurance information- that he couldn’t withhold that information from me. It was only after I started calling the cops that the guy finally let me take down his information.
Anyway, I had my car towed. I had to. Nothing was wrong with the other guys car. Dave took a cab to his place from the airport. No word, yet, on what is wrong with my car. I’ll call this afternoon if I still haven’t heard anything.
That is kind of shady. What a weird situation, but SO glad you weren’t hurt. Such an inconvenience, though. I was so pissed when I got into my car accident – the other two cars weren’t even scratched and my front end was a mess.
