Filling in the spaces

Dave and Clint leave for Europe tomorrow. It’s going to be so lonely and quiet around here- two whole weeks without Dave. I’ve given myself a couple of projects to do to keep myself busy.

1. Paint an accent wall in his office a brilliant shade of red.

2. Paint an accent wall in our bedroom blue. I also want to do some rearranging of the furniture in our bedroom.

3. Paint over the painting that I made last summer. It’s a huge 3 1/2′ by 4 1/2′ canvas and it needs new life breathed into it. Last summer I began painting a whimsicle outdoor thing and had planned to paint a huge gorgeous tree onto the center of it as a focal point, but every time I’d try to paint the tree I’d get scared that I was going to mess the whole thing up.  I’m not great at painting trees. Anyway, I’m planning on painting something more contemporary and modern this time around. Something totally different than anything that I’ve ever done. I have an idea for what our bedroom is going to look like and the painting is going to bring the whole room together.

Our new sofa ROCKS. It’s huge and comfy… the fabric doesn’t breath well when you’re warm and sweaty and having sex (HAH) but, other than that it’s great! The ottoman really does make the whole thing larger than our queen-sized bed.

Dave and I went rug shopping a couple of days ago and literally- literally- went to nine different stores before finding one that was even remotely similar to the one that we had in our head. We found it at this ridiculously overpriced furniture store, but it was on sale and quite inexpensive considering its size (almost 8′ by 11′).  Unfortunately they won’t be getting it into the store until sometime after Dave gets back from Europe. I’ll show you guys pictures once we get that rug.

My mom and sister Alison are going to be in the metro in a week and a half. Alison is officially moving to Minneapolis. I’m excited to see them- their visit will come at a time when I’ll probably be beside myself with boredom (seriously, both Clint AND Dave gone? My favorite friend AND my boyfriend? I can’t get over it!). I got that weekend off- it’ll be nice to get to spend the whole thing with my family and not have to worry about school or work or anything. I can’t wait!

I have nothing else to say.
