It’s a beautiful day!

Oh, what a beautiful day! We’re supposed to reach 63 degrees sometime this afternoon and I cannot express how excited this makes me! Spring is officially here. Now let’s keep our fingers crossed that Minnesota, notorious for throwing us curveballs in all matters conscerning weather, doesn’t decide to hit us with one last winter storm. I’m so done with snow!

My Easter went very well; Dave’s mom’s side of the family were all very nice. His grandma was sweet and quiet and the aunt in question was very friendly and outspoken. I guess I can kind of see where some people might find her off-putting… she is definitely a know-it-all. She seems to me like the type of lady that always has something to say about everything and can sometimes put her nose where it doesn’t belong.

But none of that matters because it was all great! We had baked ham, cheesy potatoes from a box (I haven’t had those since I was, like, 10), freshly baked bread, and brownies with ice cream and tons of different toppings. It was all pretty awesome and it felt very homey.

I’m not entirely sure what today is going to hold. Dave is supposed to call me when he wakes up, and we might get together. I have a ton of homework to complete both tonight and tomorrow so he’ll likely poker while I do all of that. Maybe I’ll go for a bike ride this afternoon.

Have I mentioned that he’s been on a poker bender, lately? I mean, as a guy who plays poker for a living, he plays a lot of poker. But for the month of April he’s gone above and beyond his normal hours. He’s planning on buying a brand new car and wants to put down a fat down payment while still increasing the amount of money in his account so that he can increase the stakes that he plays at (right now he’s pretty steady at $10/$20, $15/$30 and $30/$60… but his friends all play at $50/$100, $100/$200 and I’ve even watched a couple of them play at $1000/$2000. The money grows exponentially when you know what you’re doing and are playing higher stakes.). He even turned down a trip to Utah (another snowboarding excursion; I think the 3rd this year) with his friend BK in attempt to save money. When he puts his mind to something nothing can get in his way. That’s a good trait to have, I think.

Anyway, I’m going to get some stuff together for lunch. Not sure what I’m going to make yet, but I’m feeling something Asian. I bought eggroll wrappers yesterday at the grocery store!

I had no idea Dave played poker professionally. Looks like he has some awesome goals in mind! I’m so glad Easter with his family went well!
