Shir’s Birthday!

Saturday, it was dear Shirley’s birthday. That morning, Dear and I churned out another pot of Bubor Chacha. After sharing a bowl, giving my mum a bowl, reserving a portion for my brother and another for the birthday girl, the rest went over to his family. Then I did up a simple birthday card for her, and then headed to his place to print out a couple of pictures for the card, before I rushed out to meet them.

Was supposed to meet shir at 4, but she didn’t turn up. Only when I called her, did she tell me that she was still at home! -_- Wanted to wait for her, but she asked me to head over to Marina Square first, and so I went to meet up with Sher and Steh first.

We went to buy two slices of cake from Secret Recipe, and headed to this Dim Sum restaurant. It took her an hour to join us, and by then, we had already started eating. Haha.

I think all dimsum with prawns are nice. Hahaha~ I didn’t try the XiaoLongBao, but according to them, it wasn’t very good.

Some prawn and mango thingy, which was pretty good, I think.

And this ugly durian ball thing, which they said wasn’t fantastic too.

After we were done eating, the table was cleared, and we presented her with her gift. She wanted a bag, And with three girls with limited funds, we couldn’t get her some branded stuffs, so this was from Charles and Keith.

Birthday girl with her gift, She had asked for a working bag, not black nor white. But on Wednesday, when we went bag-searching, this was the one that caught our fancy without blowing our budget. It came in brown too, but just wasn’t as nice as the white one.

While Sher chatted with Shir, Steh and I ‘went to the bathroom’, and came back with the cake and my Bubor Chacha. haha.

"Make a fish, make a fish…"

We didn’t eat much, but we were all pretty full. When the cake was half-gone only, they all stopped eating. I asked if anyone was dabao-ing it home, but they said it was too ugly to be dabao-ed. Not wanting to waste food, I forced myself to finish the banana chocolate cake, but couldn’t eat the cheesecake. I think I would have puked if I did. Hah.

And my poor Bubor Chacha. They said it was not bad, but Shir and Sher doesn’t like yam. They just ate the sweet potato. And Steh who was ok with yam felt weird in the tummy and didn’t want to eat. So I ended up finishing my own dessert. -_-

I was stuffed.

Four of us, with a messy table.

Later on, Sher had to go to have an early reunion dinner with her bf and family, and Shir was dying to watch Ponyo on the cliff by the sea, so Steh and I went to watch with her, and she gave us a movie treat. Heh. I thought the show was cute, and Shir loved it. But apparantly Steh hated it. Haha.

Before the movie, we were walking around in Marina Square, and the two of us kept persuading Shir to buy this watch. After much deliberation and egging on from us, she finally bought this expensive present for herself. Hah. Well it was pretty, and I thought it suited her. Plus it is enjoyable seeing other people spending large amounts of money. Wahaha~

Overdue pictures from 30th Dec, when we were in Orchard.

Yummy chicken and garlic sauce at Dian Xiao Er (was it?)

Us and a messy table, again.

After dinner, we were on Orchard Road admiring the Christmas trees when we coincidentally met Shiwei, who helped us take this picture and then rushed off with her colleagues.

My girlies. =)
