Been Away for a Little While (bulleted) pics

  • Echo and I went to Cedar Point back in October. Was his first time there and his first time seeing a Great Lake. He kept asking me; "It is not the sea?" We didn’t get to ride all the rides because the weather turned out to be perfect and everyone and their family showed up. I don’t think I have ever seen the park so full of people before. Echo did get me to ride some rides I probably would not have gone on otherwise (seem to simply). To my amazement they were the ones I enjoyed the most. The Wind seeker with the Harry Potter music made me feel like I was riding a broom stick way up in the sky. Very cool.
  • Made it to the Renaissance Festival this year. I always plan to buy a dress when I go but never actually find one that I feel is worth so much money. Now I am starting to loose the appeal. Sad.
  • Got out and enjoyed the fall colors. I love walking in parks in the Autumn!
  • Dressed up as a Geisha for Halloween.
  • Helped put the plastic on the poly houses this year at work.
  • Echo and I went to see Wicked. I wanted to take my mom too but the tickets sold out so fast I couldn’t get enough for the time when she could come down. Had trouble getting two for Echo and me. It was a fun night. Wicked is very funny. I would love to play the role of Galinda, it has so many fun moments to act.
  • Went to a co-workers annual wine tasting party. Didn’t seem as fun as years in the past, however their were some people who went this year who had not gone years before. One guy from work showed up already drunk. Good thing he is a happy drunk, he was a bit entertaining.
  • Helped with the green cuttings at work this year. Those are the dead green leaves and tree branches people put in pots and stick on their porches. I felt terrible when we had to cut down a tree just to cut off branches for this purpose. I don’t know how the company makes any money on it.
  • Had to make tootsie rolls for the ends of the poly houses this year. Seems we need to do that every three years or so. Oh well. I like doing it because it is something different. Been a good year for floating from project to project.
  • Echo and I went to my parents house for Thanksgiving. Took some trees with us and got them planted. Didn’t realize that you needed two cherry trees to get fruit, but at least the will still get the pretty flowers in the spring and it is a tree still. Going to bring them an apple tree when I go back for Christmas. Work was just going to throw them away, crazy.
  • Last weekend Echo helped me make egg noodles from scratch and dried apples dipped in orange jello. I also wanted to make some sugar cookie cut outs but we didn’t have enough time. Sure was fun to see his face lit up as he was turning the apples on the slicer, corer, peeler machine thing. Just like a little kid helping out.
  • My sister’s divorce is finalized. She is a free woman. Her son is only recently potty trained. She had to bribe him by taking away his wii and Cars 2 privileges until he complied. Now he brags to everyone in public how he goes in the potty and it embarrasses my sister. She is working at Elder Berman’s for the season. I don’t know what is going to happen in January for her, but she still spends money like she still can afford all her bills.
  • I have a ganglion cysts on my hands. One on each hand. The left side has gotten pretty big and last night I tried to get it taken care of at an urgent care. Found out they can’t do anything for me. Gave me a card for a specialist and now I have to call and make an appointment or just live with it. Trouble is I only have about two free days left in this month and my insurance will run out at the end of the year (canceled it because I never use it). I am pretty sure the cysts are what make my hands feel so weak all the time and my right hand feel like it is asleep even though I am using it. Yes I know they use to be called Bible bumps but I have no intention of smacking it with a big book to break it. Not a recommended treatment anymore.
  • The GM at work wants Echo to get his license so he can drive company vehicles on the road. Echo says he can’t get his license and then I learned about a time when he was caught prior to this last time in an accident that was not his fault without a license. He says he told me about it before, but I don’t remember. I kind of hope the GM puts some more pressure on him to get it, because I would feel better if it had one.
  • I have been, in a round about way, several times, asked to take over the potting barn next year. While it would be more money and a promotion to Full Time 2 I don’t really want the stress of it all. Getting yelled at every week for things out of my control hardly sounds like a good time. Still it looks like that will be my job in February.
  • Layoffs are coming up. My last day at work this year will be the 22. I have vacation for the rest of the month. They have not told me when I will becoming back yet. Should happen in my review which is suppose to happen before I leave…so probably the day before or my last day. They love to keep you hanging.
  • Currently I am working on propagating taxus and boxwoods at work. I love this job. Last year I only got to help out at the end but this year I am there from the beginning. Has given me a chance to get to know another co-worker who worked most of the year in another department. I think she and I could be very good friends. We are already sharing. She burned me a copy of Adele’s cd and I have loaned her a DVD.

you can be a blessing of a boss for someone else. Do it for them. Maybe you could let them know in advance that yelling at you doesn’t work and there is always email if they are mad about something, they can get their point across that way and be upset all they want and that won’t be so intimidating. 🙂 Hope to see you on more and Merry Christmas!

Great pics as always. I think I remember you mentioning the other accident he was in when he was in the last one. Growing up in Washington state we had a cherry tree. Just the one but we got cherries on it. It must have been seeing a neighbors cherry tree on the sly, he he.

Saw wicked this fall too – fantastic! 🙂 Much lighter than the book but I love the music!! Looks like you had a great fall – and no wonder you haven’t been through here … you have been busy! 🙂 Enjoy your christmas! Thanks for your notes! I am good most days, just wondering what the point of my journey is and why i am on my own:( And now my best friend hasn’t talked to me since her engagement.

RYN: The kids already like the scents so I don’t think distraction will be a problem. Chuck pranked me back when I left the toilet paper in his bathroom. But he just put it in mine a few days later. It wouldn’t surprise me if I get pranked back. I have done it now to Knickers and Bootyboy so I guess I am asking for it.:)
