This morning I woke at 8:30am, little Joe sounding off like a human alarm clock that had me eyes wide open and sharply alert. I slid out of bed like a spinning cog, feet sliding comfortably into my hafflinger clogs and to the bedroom I started to go. Through the door and there he was on hands and knees just looking at me with a big smile. Can’t help but want to scoop him up, but not before Nina came in behind me and pleaded to be the one to pick him up. I conceded and just locked eyes with little Joe who beamed back the knowing gaze. The gaze that says " I know you!" , the gaze that fuels me to want to do everything for him.

Brian and Rychelle came yesterday afternoon and Brian and I took little Joe for some quick marketing and then off to the beer store, his first trip to a beer distributor, and none other than Uncle Brian to be there with him. Every guy there was nodding and grinning at his cute face. Joe had his attention on the bright colored packaging labels and Brian and I decided on Spaten oktoberfest 12pk, Bluepoint Oktoberfest 6pk and Sam Adams Honeyporter 6pk. That night we had like 6 beers a piece and we all watched a movie.

This morning I decided to go out running with Brian which wasn’t a great idea, I hadn’t run on blacktop in sometime and being he is an ex marine his conditioning far excedes any threshold I’d be used to. Beyond this he was a distance runner in high school so I was a bit out of sorts.

Tonight I’ll be over at my cousin’s house for his son’s 2nd birthday, Nina unfortunately is going to stay behind since little Joe’s bedtime happens at 7:30pm and my cousin set up the party to start at 7:30pm. I am a bit pissed at this, I mean honestly what is the deal with a kid’s birthday party on a saturday in the evening?

Tomorrow Bria and Rychelle will be leaving in the mid morning, Nina will already be at work. It’s great when we have them over, which is why I always wish the distance wasn’t so great. 6 1/2 hrs on the road to Olean.

Ok, enough of me for now.
