no longer beside me (poetry)

stars rape the skies like dreams unspoken

fingers running the length of bomb blasted hallways

fingerprints, indented inward, like mine shiver

The dreams of a child reflect in the half drank bottle of mad dog 20/20
from a wino too weak to yearn for what could’ve been

Slumped over in the alley the small child passes

training wheels clinking across bullet carved concrete sidewalk
Life becomes larger as we become smaller
when we were once kings of the wind
Knowledge becomes the noose as time whores our flesh.
