Back and Better Than Ever
Well it’s been sometime since I’ve written and I’m not sure anyone that used to keep up with my writings still has me tuned in so I’ll just go on as if I’m speaking just for myself. After all, that is how I intended to write at the outset.
Since I last wrote back in December of last year things have progressed very nicely for me. I did finally get the job with the post office and I’ve been working there since just before Christmas last. I don’t get as many hours as I’d like to but that will come with time. I’ve made a very good impression and I believe I’ve settled in quite well.
I did have to leave my other job though. They needed me there full time and with the post office, well, when they called me, I went. It’s almost twice the hourly pay so what else could I do. Besides, the post office is going to be my future, my retirement. The other job could offer me no promise so it was an easy choice. They were very understanding and I have made myself available to them to answer any questions I may have left them with and they’ve gotten in touch with me now and again. It was all very amicable.
My relationship with Greg remains much the same as it was. We’re very happy together and we continue to compliment each other’s short comings. If I were to pin one word on it all it would have to be…..FUN. I guess that’s what I’ve always loved most about being with Greg. No matter what we do, even if it’s nothing at all, we have fun. We laugh a lot and for that I’m grateful.
We’re planning a trip out to Yellowstone in late July or early August. We’re taking my two oldest children, Jonathan and Courtney, 17 and 13 respectively. We’re gonna fly out to Denver and rent an RV. From there we’re gonna spend nearly two weeks just driving through Yellowstone. Suffice it to say we’re all very excited about it.
Of course, Greg can’t wait for that vacation, so we just booked a week in St. Lucia for next month. He decided he needed to be somewhere warm and tropical and away from home. I suggested St. Lucia as I’d heard wonderful things about the island. It’s just off the coast of South America in the southern windward island chain. It’s a volcanic island with lush tropical greenery and mountainous terrain all in one place. I found the hotel on the web and it’s just to die for. It’s called the Windjammer something or other. I can’t remember it right now. The pictures of the hotel property were beautiful so we booked it last night. Flights and all. It’s all done. We’re off in mid May.
I’ve done a great deal more in the way of home improvements since I last mentioned. It’s kind of lengthy so I’ll skip the details for now. I’ve really got to get dinner started before Greg gets home. I hadn’t intended to make an entry much less a lengthy one. I really just kind of got the urge and decided, why not?
Until next time, whenever next time will be…….
God, I’d love a vacation. It’s nice to see you back and to hear that things are going so well.
