Bringing Spike Home With Us

Last night Greg and I went and picked up a new kitty. The wife of one of the guys at work found three kittens whose mother hasn’t shown up in over a week and asked if anyone was interested. I guess they were going to be turned over to the humane society so Wayne’s wife asked if anyone was interested. I couldn’t refuse. The kitten was the last one and I knew the humane society was just gonna put it down so I jumped at the chance.

We decided to name it Spike (I keep saying it cos we don’t know if it’s a male or female yet) since it’s ears and fur are all spikey. The little thing is so tiny and all just bones. My other cats and the dog weren’t fazed by it at all. Actually, Trouble, the only female cat kind of hissed at it but she does that with every new encounter. Wheezer took right to him almost like an adopted father. It was adorable.

Lori called last night and asked if Greg and I wanted to go out with her and Dan tonight for Biketoberfest here in Daytona/Ormond. We said sure so they’ll meet us over at our house after I get home from work. I’m looking forward to seeing them. It’s been a while since we’ve gotten together so it was a pleasant surprise.

I’m still trying to look busy at work. I’d rather be home if I’m not gonna do anything here but I can’t afford to take off with no pay so that’s not an option. It sucks to because Greg is off all this week. He’s got so much built up vacation time over 16 years that he’s gotta use it. I think he’s got like 2500 hours of built up time. He’ll get paid for it when he leaves but he wants to use some of it now and then. Ok, I better do something.
