Updatiness

Ok, for the first time in years, I’m writing an entry. In the box that one normally writes entries in. I never do this as I had so many occasions when my OD was fresh and newborn where I lost entire streams of consciousness to the ether/issues with dial-up internet. But it’s all good in the hood now. Or maybe it’s not. But I like living on the edge like this.

I’m chatting to my Mam on Facebook. She got so curious about looking up photos of my sister’s adventures in New Zealand with my login that I just went and set her up with her own account. She’s astonished at how much stuff people put up there. If you go from physical photo albums to this, I suppose it is a bit weird. But she’s semi tech savvy, so she might survive.

So I emailed cousin Eilish after the last entry. Well, way after it, like last Thursday. Catherine was going to Kerry for the weekend, so I left Eilish a message on Facebook proposing a few drinks on Friday night. But Friday got busy, having a few drinks with my workmate Paul (me drinking with a guy is a big deal, btw) and, well, I never got to meet Eilish but she was busy too and no harm done as there was no strict appointment or owt.

Saturday night was to be the night instead, so I caught the bus in to meet her in Kehoe’s. Two pints of Smithwicks (new fave tipple) and we were going to Heidi Konnt in The Sugar Club. This is part of her show:

That was just the bit involving her making Steve in Michigan dance to Lady Gaga (also another new thing I like, it took some time). The main part of the night involved Chat Roulette aka Cockvision (incidentally, there were ZERO straight couples getting it on, so the chances of one finding another are like a bizillion-to-one, certain-favourite-who-knows-who-she-is!!!)

It was essentially bingo, we got cards for a euro each and instead of numbers, we had things like “small cock”, “stroking it”, “waving”, “bored couple” and “group of girls”. I got really into it (at one stage shouting at a masturbating man to “wave, you fucking cunt”) and mistakenly shouted bingo (who knew it had to be horizontal).

Anyway, the night was a roaring success and apart from missing my Nitelink stop so much I had to walk the full length of Ashbourne home (could be worse, could be the bus garage), it all worked out well.

Money is a bit tight but there’s much socialising to be done this month, so I might let the credit card take some of the pain like bus tickets. We also booked a week in the south of France in mid-September, which should be fun. We’ll be close to Spain and could even drive to Barcelona. Plenty of options.

That’s all for now, should write more breezy entries and make myself worth actually reading!!!

Nice to see you. Well you know what I mean! Am off to the south of France on Saturday and I cannot wait.

Chat Roulette is SO weird! How does one pronounce Eilish? I have trouble with Gaelicky words. It’s probably “Jen” or something. Baha.

ryn: thanks for the feedback on it. Tis good to know. I might have another look around in Ireland to see what we could get in the current economic climate. I know prices have fallen hugely. Twould prob cost a little more, and we’d have a little less, and twouldn’t be in Italy, but it’d mean we could have afters…I’d hate for Mark to feel like he missed out on anything.

ryn: brave…or stupid…it seems my new “friends only” status has given me alcohol free dutch courage!

RYN: I read that there is definitely going to be a full length series of “Sherlock” at some point. It sounds like you had a fun night!

ryn: methinks you might be right. I have a bit of a propensity for the gays, I must admit.

ryn: my office is cold all year round. It’s essentially a warehouse with desks. I wear my coat all day in winter!!

Ryn: oooh, well even if i’m not living there, i am often there for other reasons so maybe we could meet up either way!
