Anniversary Date

So Justin and I finally did something for our anniversary yesterday. We took a trip to Worlds of Fun and spent the afternoon exploring the park. I had fun.. enjoyed myself thoroughly. Despite the rides not being as thrilling as say Knott’s berry farm (though WoF did have more rides than Knotts) or six flags I had a lot of fun. Won a yellow elephant from the guess your age guy, who well really guessed way wrong just so I can win the elephant. He guessed 12 despite the fact my chest size is as big as his head. ::laughs:: Either way I got a really soft cuddley elephant. THe local rock radio station 98.9 The Rock was there and I got a free t-shrit. Then to top the day off we went to Gates BBQ.

For those of you not familiar with Kansas City let me explain a few things. I left the best burger joint in California (In & Out), but in exchange I got a few things good here in KC. One of them was Gates. Now you might think what could possibley be that big a deal about a BBQ place, we cook BBQ at home a lot …. Well… Some places are famous for certain things for a reason, Julian, CA for their Apple Pie, Flordia, for their Oranges, Texas for Tex-Mex.. Kansas City for Gates BBQ. The ONLY thing that makes home made better is cost. Definetly something EVERYONE must try if they visit Kansas City is one of the local Gates Resteraunts. Don’t let the shouting of the help bother you, when its your turn just shout your order back and stand in line to pay… It’s great.

We came home after eating and … (things omitted for personal reasons)..

Spent lots of time curled up cuddling. I discussed the fact he scorned me the night before when I went to bed, even just for cuddles and he was sorry… He does have a tendency to sleep really deeply when it rains and it was raining that night. So he was sorry and made up for it last night with tons of cuddling and snuggling. Made me feel a lot better.

So it may not have been a romantic date, but it was an enjoyable date for sure. We have season passes to WoF so a randome date day could happen any time this summer 🙂
