Cooking 4 Dummies – Potatoe Soup

First of all I want to say I had to use spell check to check the spelling of potatoe… stupid potatoe tomato crap. Second of all I’d like to say that just because you use this recipe doesn’t make you a poor cook. I cook well (as long as I dont bake) and I just find a need for easy simple recipes. That’s what these entries of mine will have for my friends and readers.

Potatoe Soup

Ingredients:

Potatoes
Green Onions
Celery
Butter (real butter in sticks)
Milk
Water
Seasoned salt
Oregeno
Garlic powder
Chicken Boulion cube.

Peel and Cut as many potatoes as you want, depending on how many you are feeding. For a large pot I cut about 5 -7 small to medium sized potatoes.

Put the cut potatoes in your large pot.

Wash celerey and onions, chop and put in pot.

Put half a stick of butter in pot.

Pour some milk over vegitables, not a lot just about a cup or so.. (no need to measure).

Fill rest of pot with water.

Season with seasoned salt, garlic powder oregeno, and boulion cube to taste.

Turn heat on high until butter melts then reduce to low, cover and wait until potatoes are cooked, stirring occassionally, watch to make sure it does not boil, or milk will get clumpy (although it wont ruin the soup). Serve hot.

If you want something else in your soup feel free to add it.

I like no measuring and no non sense cooking.

That in a nutshell is easy to make good tasting potatoe soup.

Um, potato and potatoe are both correct spellings. However, the second spelling has fallen out of favor the last few years, so much so, in fact, that Dan Quayle, the former VP of the US, was derided for his spelling skills due to this very word, which he spelled potatoe. Thanks for the recipe by the way. Hugs

You say Potato, I say potahto, and we’ll get together in the moooorrrnin’!
