Happy Holidays

Well I managed to get my iPod Nano for Christmas from my mom. Nice little silver thing, and I’ve managed to even put music on it. So now I’m searching through all my songs to find a good first dance for me and Justin at our wedding. I’ve got a few Faith Hill songs, I’ve got two Luther Vandross songs, and Spend my life with you by Eric Benet, which I really like.

I need a good song for my father daughter dance. If you’ve got suggestions the only song I have is Butterfly Kisses, but it doesn’t fit me and my dad a lot. I saw What a girl Wants with Amanda Bines and I heard a song and I liked it a lot.. now if I could only remember what it was. I’ll have to go look at Amazon and see if the movie has a sound track.. here’s to hoping it does.

Justin did really well with my christmas gifts this year. I have all these books on top of my amoure, and it got to the point where I’d turn around after opening it and they’d fall off (This is my to be read pile) so knowing I like Faeries, he got me two book ends with “gothic” style Fae. They are in the traditional color of a gargoyle, dark and stone looking, with Dragon style wings, sitting on a tombstone coffin with roses trailing up and all over and only the roses are painted in this redish pink color. Its really pretty, and while not all Fae are fancy flower girls my book ends are great, I love them. I’ll have to scan a pic so you all can see and see that they are awesome. He also got my Carrie Underwood’s CD, as well as Red Hot Chilli Peppers newest one. I got my own D&D players handbook, he got me the players kit which came with some mini’s and the soft covered PHB, which is the one I like better as he already has one of each. So now I offically have my own so I don’t have to share at our weekly D&D games. Justin also got another box of starting stuff for D&D, more on the DM side, it came with some mini’s, a starting adventure, and some other things to help the starting DM, while I don’t have trouble getting stories put together its got some good things to help me run better over all. It came with a Large Blue Dragon (Large being its creature size and also affects the mini size), which is pretty cool, as the dragons are the harder to find mini’s. That makes two that we have now.

My stocking was filled with new makeup brushes (as I recently got some Mary K and well the loose powder doesn’t come with a little puff), and a new manicure set. I got a book about the Fae, its more geared towards kids but its a prettly little book about fae, and its adorable, while its not something that takes much reading it has cute little cards tucked into pockets and little envelopes with little things in them.

Pam got me a cangle holder with a pretty Fae in purple (my second favorite color) sitting between two flowers that are purple and are what hold the candles. She is named Arianna of the eternal fire. I things its really pretty.

While I didn’t get any clothes (and I mostly got Justin clothes), I do feel much better about this Christmas than last years. We are less broke this year so that does help as well, and that Pam helped Justin do some shopping as well.

I’m super pleased about my nano, it was like the ONLY gift I wanted like a kid wanting a present from Santa… My mom ordered it straight through apple so it has the engraving on the back, which is awesome. iTunes site is not co-operating with me and I’m assuming that’s because its christmas and everyone who got an ipod is there registering their ipods and getting music. I’m going to go to the car and get some of my cd’s from it and just put my songs from there on my nano, its 2gig, so it holds about 500 songs.. (way more than I think I’ll ever need).

Went to the “orphan” dinner last night that my friends do, for those of us who don’t usually do much, the Gates were there, myself and Justin, Nathan, Vanessa and Dani, and Spence. Logan and Kitty hosted it this year and it was really really nice. One of those days where you look around and see your friends and are just like, yes, this is what life is about.

I’ve had a lot of moments like that this year. My only new year’s wish is that they continue. That contentment continues to settle me into life.
