Parents, Pictures, & a Date
So when I phoned my mom for the 3rd time since Justin asked, she wasn’t home, so I just told Christopher.. I loved his reaction. My little brother is so great. He was so excited. Silly thing asked “To J?” and I was like who else would I be marrying, Aethena (my cat)? He laughed and of course my mom phoned as soon as she got home, which was while I was on the phone with my dad.
Both parents wanted to know a date.. and I was like um, September 2008. My mom was like Ohh that’s a long while, and my dad was like, the kids will be in school. For my dad I wanted to say, just means you’ll have to move here all that much sooner eh? But I said, its historically the month with the least amount of rain per the alminac and I want it outside so I needed to pick the month with the least chance or rain.
So either way I talked to my dad about how much I’d like to keep the cost down to and I’d really like to go really inexpensive. $5000. I know insane huh? Well food will be inexpensive, thinking Gates BBQ and get Hyvee to do the breads and cheeses. The zoo is going to be the part that costs the most $1200 for the rental of the Boathouse, but it leaves the largest exhibit open for a few hours after, which makes it completely great for my younger family members to sneak a peak at my awesome zoo.
So I need to get ahold of Sara, see if she’ll still want to make my dress. If not I’ll have to start a dress hunt. I don’t want something from David’s Bridal, they are so, cookie cutter, so… not pass it down to your daughter and granddaughter. Kinda what I wanted for my ring, I didn’t want my ring to be a typical diamon on a band. I wanted something to pass onto future J’s (yes Justin and I want to keep the J’s in our family).
So I got pictures..
I’m not the greatest photographer so forgive me. It’s a fire opal with two diamon chips set beside it with white gold. I’m not a fan of yellow gold. The fire opal has lots of pretty color and I tried to catch it but like I said I’m not a great photographer.
I’m really worried that this is going to cost me more than $5000, I suspect about $12,000. But if I can save my dad as much as I can I will. I’ve no clue where the ceremony will actually be as I’ve not searched it out yet, only that I want it to be outside. I’m thinking of the memorial gardens here in KC, I’ll have to see how expensive it will be.
I’ll need to offically ask Jazz to do the Maid of Honor part. I’ve got 4 girls to ask to be in my wedding, Jazz and Pam locally, Michelle as my Matron of Honor and Cassandra. Emily might be a touch to old for a flower girl so I might have her as a bridesmaid as well, so five. Justin will have Will, his brother, and I don’t know who else.
Wow I really don’t know where to start. Saw someone else on the news page that is getting married next November but just got engaged recently and she’s got all kinds of things planned. I’m glad I picked two years out, I’d rather not feel rushed as I’ve seen many brides feel. Why a year? I’m happy with my almost two years date out. I kept telling justin he’d have to ask and still would have two years before we offically did get married. I want a long time to plan.
I’ve got some book in my Amazon wish list.. On my first paycheck I may pick one or two up. Have tons of other bills.
Ohh I go back to work Monday… IM SOOOOOO Excited.
It’s finally a job at work that doesn’t have so many documents per hour I must work. While I do have to do so much its not actually a measured rate per my standards from my what my two friends in the job already tell me. They both say its a completely different atmosphere from ERS and Datatranscription. So much I’m highly looking forward to it. Misty is going into training as well so I know I’ll know at least one person in one of the classes. Hopefully she’ll be in the same class as me. I should email Toni and see if she applied at all.
I should ask Justin if he can take me up to Barnes and Noble and pick up these books. Might see if I can put some stuff on his credit card. Its clean so it’d just be me paying it off. Wrapping up here…

Yeah, I knew the AIDs thing was probably propaganda. I knew you could test positive for HIV, that’s it, and a lot of the time you must be tested multiple times before you can even get an accurate HIV reading. I already knew about the food thing, but it scared me still. Yeah, I’m only mildly educated on AIDs. Thanks for the notes. 🙂

I love how unique your ring is! I have marriage on the brain lately (my last entry was about some engagement jealousy :-D) Congratulations!!! I am so happy for you! Have fun making the plans – try not to let budgeting stress you out too much, my roommate let it consume her and made it less fun – but you have a lot more time to plan than she did.

It is a very beautiful ring! As for the cost of the wedding, you can think about doing the invitations yourself on the puter, check cost of ink/paper vs ordering. Why not have the ceremony and reception at the zoo? You have plenty of time to find an officiant.I dont know how many brides wear a dress handed down, consider a veil, necklace or fancy handkerchief instead. Hugs Eri

Wow! I found another IRS worker!! It is exciting knowing that there is someone else who works there also. It is neat! The last one I found, works in Philly. He is a great guy! Sorry I didn’t note you back quicker…between the school and the kitty and the family..yeah. I have no clue what that is. I just enter in data. I have done that for the last two tax seasons. I did switch from nights to days and I will work days this coming up tax season. Hey, are we in the new building yet?
