The Bear Puppet
So I got my return email.. So far it looks like it might cost me $2000. I don’t mind that but I’d rather have it be half that. Justin would doodies a brick if he found out I spent that much.
So I phoned the designer directly from the company and he’s going to call me back. Justin doesn’t want me to spend money on such a thing (as he’s already guessed because of some of my previous questioning.. he’s just smart like that), but as he doesn’t know what will make the puppet so special (that it is being custom made after our Maine Coon cat Bear) will be what I think he will love. If I can get it down to $1000 or less than we have a go. If not I don’t know how I’ll afford $2000.
One reason I think the puppet will be so good is that we love our cat, and it will also be something we can remember him by if we ever lose him (I’m hoping he lasts until he’s a very very old cat). I’ve requested animation in the tail, but the puppet designer I think has included moveable ears, animated eyes.. all things I might actually consider. I might have to make him smaller instead of 18-22 inches might make him 12-18. But then again Bear is really a BIG cat so it would be strange to have the puppet smaller than the actual cat.
I would really like for him to be less than $1000. I knew when I was going into it I’d be paying a minimum of $500, so I was prepared for a high price.
Only reason I’d like to get it down from $2000 is that I have a wedding I need to save up for as well.
I love giving personal gifts like this, I really like when I get them in return as well, but its not as likely with Justin. He’s done the really personal thing once, and it was amazing. I told him I wanted something personal, something with thought this year, so I’ll see what he can come up with. It’ll be interesting as he thinks personal means high cost (in this case for me to him it is, but this is not what I require back).

I’m biting my lower lip trying not to laugh, he’s over by the door trying to “fix” the door and all I can hear is some swearing. Not a good happy sound. I’ll go clean cat boxes while he does this. He’ll feel better if I at least do one of my house chores 🙂
fair enough.. i can respect that 🙂
