Votes for women!
So I went out and did my duty and offered my respect to the women who won American women the right to vote! I voted today.
Had an interesting topic on the ballot today: It was asking if we would approve when State Judges get convicted of a felony and lose their jobs (because well obviously if they get convicted they go to jail and can’t show up for work) that they lose their state pensions.
It was something I voted yes on. I know it might seem unfair as they worked for so many years before they got into trouble, but honestly if your going to be judging those in regards to our laws you should know better than to break laws, especially to felony crimes.
Another interesting amendment on the ballot: To allow Stem cell cloning research. People wanted to vote no becaue they didn’t want to have humans cloned but the amendment actually has in it that it bans the cloning of HUMANS. But allows the cloning of stem cells for research.. so ehh.. I hope people read the entire amendment before marking their ballots.
Voted Cleaver back in, he’s been exceptional with Federal Employees, voted Claire in to get Talent out… (oh yea Im Democratic so ..) Some people to vote in only had Democrats running, no one else ran.. interesting lots of like what ever up at the state levels. Cleaver is for HoR, and Claire is Senate. I had one other HoR person I think.. but I went Democratic as it wasn’t as important as making sure Cleaver stays in.. (Gotta make sure my federal job isn’t given away to a private organization..)
I voted for the extra tax on tabacco, sorry I’m not a smoker and I believe that smokers should pay the extra taxes to fund programs to help prevent children from smoking.
Im on the Missouri side so the Kansas soccor fields weren’t for me so I didn’t have to vote there.
Lots of state appealate court judges to vote yes or no for keeping them in office. Like two freaking pages worth of the flip cards. I had no clue, or I would have researched decisions they made and decided but well … I skipped it as its better to make no choice then random choices eh?
Started work yesterday. OMG the new IRS building is AWESOME. Its HUGE and fantastic. New cafeteria vendor is retardily expensive for a chicken wrap (two chicken strips with lettuce, tomatoe and cheese in a tortilla) and a soda cost me nearly $7. Took my own lunch today, left over BBQ from Sunday, was very nice.
Went to Target after work and had Justin get me a lunch box thingy, a new purse and new chap lip stuff. I’ll be taking lunch from now on which is smart. Usually it’ll be left overs from the night before so it’ll be good.. so tomorrow looks like potatoe stroganoff hamburger helper 😛 I might drop some greenbeans into it so I have some veggies.
Anyhow I’m exhausted.. got the full tour of the new work site today and well it was a good freakin walk 😛
yay for new IRS building!! Hopefully there won’t be the sicky issues that we had at Bannister. And WTH about the food! That sucks!!! Watching the voting results and stem cell is winning…and so is Claire. I got to meet Cleaver in high school and he is a great guy. Didn’t get a chance to vote today because I didn’t get our address updated with the DOR in time. Pissed me off. So I can’t complain if the wrong person gets in. But Goddess!! I wanted to vote! RYN: lol!!!
Warning Comment
I agree with you on the extra tax on tobacco completely!
