One thing the Republicans have going for them is they pull in the religious vote, I guess because they’re “moral” but more because they campaign it very much that they are, indeed, “moral”. Therefore Democrats tend to be characterized as the nihilists, scavengers going to anywhere they’ll get a vote. In reality, this is probably a good characterization for the entire political system.

Republicans have also seemed to be more about the military. Some say this causes wars. Maybe so. Democrats have in the past been known to focus more on the nation and helping it’s people. Some say this causes laziness. Maybe so.
