If the impossible happened to me I would react…

Open Diary theme of the week:
If the impossible happened to me I would react … how?

Is this good impossible or bad impossible?

As for bad impossible, well, of course, living in deep space on board a Space Station right next door to a worm-hole which leads to the Delta Quadrant, I regularly encounter what would normally be termed ‘impossible’: time-travel, invisibility, robots and cyborgs, you name it really, and of course one must do whatever it takes to restore normality to the Station and protect its inhabitants. If the choices are fight or flight, I’m usually a fighter.

Unfortunately, these ‘impossible’ things are rarely the ones you would actually order if you had a choice about such things.

Top of my wish-list for impossible things at the moment would be to be able to wave away the results of the last ten or so years on my face and figure… and if such a thing could happen I would feel confident about jumping right back in the fight to make Bajor fully free (and I might even stand up to Sisko!).

General every-day impossible wishes include having someone around who would magic away the mess left in Quark’s after the Ferengis have been in.

But the real biggy for me right now – the thing that seems most impossible whilst at the same most desirable – to be whisked off this blasted Space Station back to civilisation in Bajor. I may try to ‘seize the day’ while I’m up here, but often it seems as though there really is no day to be seized.  If this impossible dream could be granted me, I’d take hold of it with both hands and relish the opportunity to make a new start.   Periodical trips to Bajor just make the pain of the Exile more poignant.  Perhaps it’s just a matter of watching and waiting, but I was never very good at that. Bajorans aren’t known for their patience.

I suppose that it is better to have some terrible ‘impossible’ to fight than the monotony and boredom of running a Space Station with nothing better to think about that what I don’t have.

So if ‘impossible’ is what you’re offering, bring it on!
