My Nana

I haven’t written a lot about my family in here. There’s not much to write about them, considering that if I did, all I’d be doing is complaining, and frankly I want to sound like more than just a whiny, complaining, “I-hate-my-parents” type.

Anyway, though, Nana is no doubt my favorite relative. She turned 93 today, and knowing her, she’ll be the person to beat the record for longest living person. She’s awesome. I was supposed to go up to see her today, but because of aforementioned parents, I got out of the car, and walked back home with Mike. But I called Nana when I got home, and let her know that I’d be up there at some other point in my own car to see her. I asked her what she’d want for her birthday, and she said she didn’t want anything, or need anything. She didn’t want or need clothes, and hated getting them, (I guess that doesn’t change, no matter how old you are!!) But if I was going to do anything, I should get her a box of candy.

So, that gave me an idea. Jason showed me Delicious Orchards a while ago, (thank you, Jason!!!), so I’m going to go there and get her one of those horkin’ big candy canes, and some soft chocolates. Plus, I can get another really horkin’ big apple for me.

I can’t believe that Jason realized I loved apples as much as I do just because of how much I like drinking Snapple Apple.

Anyway, though, I hope that when I’m older, I’m like Nana. More mobile, definitely, but the same kind of disposition, and length of life. I mean, geez! I honestly expect Nana to live to be about a hundred and twenty. Not only because I don’t want her to die, but because she’s honestly that stubborn.

I can’t wait to drive up there again. I’ll bring her the Delicious Orchards stuff, and probably a can of chili. She likes chili.

I miss nanna. I regret leaving NY simply cuz I don’t get to be w/her. We asked her to move w/us but she wanted to stay near your dad. Why get her chocolates? I hope their the melty kind, cuz she doesn’t have teeth and she usually just gives them to Uncle Billy, anyway. I worry, cuz she doesn’t eat much and she’s always saying, “I done give out.” I wish she’d reconsider and move in w/us. [HyacatDuncan]
