Almost Christmas

Wow, less than one week until Christmas.  I’m finished shopping.  I only have a few more gifts to wrap.  They are Matt’s, though, so I have to wait until he is at work on Monday to finish them.  We didn’t get each other all that much.  Mainly just spent our money on Derek.  Derek has LOADS of presents under the tree, and lots more coming from Santa.  He’s getting 3 of the 4 things (plus some) that he asked Santa for.  Trucks, Elmo (the Hokey Pokey one), Bike, and he’s not getting a beach.  LOL.  He says that we can put it in the car and then put it in the living room for him.  He doesn’t understand that isn’t possible.

Mom and dad will be coming to visit again the week after Christmas.  They are bringing even MORE gifts.  I need to clean out Derek’s toy box and get rid of some of his older toys he doesn’t play with anymore.  He has so many toys, though.  His toy box is a 55 gallon Rubbermaid tub.  It’s overflowing.  Plus, some of his bigger toys aren’t even in it.

Matt got meritoriously promoted at the beginning of this month.  That’s a really great thing in the Marine Corps.  I’m really proud of him.  He’s come so far from where we were just a little over 2 years ago.  There have been no problems in the last 9 months or so, and I’m really happy about that.  I’m almost afraid to mention it, though, for fear of jinxing things.

My live is uneventful, as always.  Each day is more or less the same.  Sometimes I get bored with the monoteny of it.  At least I have some friends in the area now, though.  I went to the movies with 2 of them yesterday.  Mona Lisa Smiles was playing on base for free, so we went and saw that.  It was pretty good.  Matt and I are going to see Paycheck tonight.  It’s free on base, also.  Our “adopted son” is going to babysit Derek.  It will be nice for Matt and I to get out and do something together.
