New things

So, we got our tax return back a few weeks ago.  I used it to pay off one credit card and almost all of another one, plus put a little in savings.  Then, not even a week later, the monitor on my computer starts acting all screwy.  So, since we have to buy a new monitor, we went ahead and bought a whole new computer.  I don’t have it yet, though.  We got a Dell.  It should be here in the next 2 weeks.  Then, I decided I’m sick of this ugly, white, cold, hard tile floor we have in base housing.  So, today, we went and bought some carpet to cover the entire living room.  Plus, we got one of those road carpets for Derek’s room.  He loves it.  The carpet for the living room will be here this afternoon.  We have to move all the furniture out of the living room and take apart the computer and tv/stereo/vcr/dvd player and find somewhere to put them while we put it down.  We do not have enough room in our house to move all this stuff…lol.  But, we’ll figure something out.

We have a meeting to go over our damages from our move tomorrow at 10 am.  We had over $3000 in damages from the move here.  Due to depreciation of items, we won’t get that full amount back.  But, when we do, the first two things we are buying are a new entertainment center (they ruined ours in the move) and a new recliner (the arm is practically falling off of it).  Depending on what is left, the rest will either go in saving, pay off the computer, or maybe replace a few other things.

Nothing else exciting in my life.  Matt was gone all weekend.  He went to the Nascar race.  He’s off work today.  My parents are coming to visit again in a few weeks.  Derek is dong really good with potty training.  We’ve made two trips out in public with no accidents.  Guess that’s it for now.

Until next time…

yay for income taxes! ours went mostly to fixing things on the car. just a bunch of little things that we couldn’t afford to mess with until we got that money in. and we couldn’t have an unsafe car with a baby on the way! it sucks that you don’t get carpet in the base housing there. you should protest! 😛 take care and hope all keeps going well 🙂 *hugs*
