Day 26 of Shooting- More Police Tape
Stu and I were on our own at Christiane’s pad. Continuing the dream sequence- Elliot wakes up and feels something slithering across his leg. Before he can figure it out it disappears under the door and into the hall. He gets up and opens his bedroom door to find it completely taped off. A few strands of police tape weave in and out of the strands.
So it was a lot of setting up the shot on a tripod, pressing record and then running behind the bed to pull the police tape. Then run back and press top. Did this three or four times and played it back to make sure I got it. Same thing with the door shot, except we left just enough uncovered on the bottom so we could crawl in and out of the room- enough to bring the camera out too.
It was kind of fun and we shot very quickly. Stu and I got pretty excited about the process and kept up a good rhythym with a couple of five minute breaks. Like many of my friends, he’s also allergic to cats so it was important to get him out of there as soon as possible.
Stu was also kind enough to talk to a make up friend of his and hooked me up with a cheap contact. This Dean guy basically doesn’t charge except for the materials so I’m basically getting him for half the price- it’s so his apprentice students can get more experience. I was told they just finished a vampire film with Brad Dourif and Lance Henrickson.
Meeting with Dean tomorrow to get Stu and Yvette fitted for fangs. (as of March 23 that is) and the guy seems nice enough- just extremely low key- to the point where I feel like I might be pissing him off on the phone. I sound like an asshole if I’m too enthusiastic on the phone because it’s like jabbering at Stephen Wright.
Anyway, simple shoot- great looking shots- fun night. The only thing we skipped out on was the shot of the police tape coiling around his gun, but the shot wasn’t going to work, so we’ll put it in the last part of the dream we haven’t shot where it continues into the hall. Which means we switch locations to Julie’s house where we’re supposed to cobweb her living room with more and more police tape.
