Recent teen experiment has me thinking @ the biz:

Prostitution has morphed from what you still see on the occasional street corners in movies to a situation in which scores and scores of very "qualified", mostly young-seeming women happily sell their sex online. Of course there are the older women who have been in the business for years or decades, but most of the money is probably landing in the hands of women 35 and under.

Consider how the hotel/motel industry has evolved over the years: Everybody used to have their level of accommodations and if you were a Motel 6 person you never stayed at the Sheraton, etc. These days, with discount lodging available online, it is much easier and far more affordable than before to land a multi-night stay at a nice hotel.

Back in the day it was the smaller, cheaper motels near highway exits which were the first to field inquiries from weary travelers who had been on the road all day and part of the night. Once the "No Vacancy" sign went up at those, then the medium sized venues would fill to capacity.

These days, with so many people locking in great low rates at more expensive places who are happy to fill their rooms, some of what remains for the very cheap spots is to house could-be young hookers for multiple nights on end. Of course the motels pretend not to know that the only persons not checked out by 2pm on a Tuesday are hookers working the day shift. It remains so easy for a working girl to pack a state of the art laptop computer and set up shop at a cheap motel.

Still others bravely and boldly host Johns at their homes and apartments, all in the interest of securing extra cash during tough economic times. The worse the economy gets, the more people turn to prostitution as a way to pay the bills.

Imagine this world where these girls spend most of their time in places easily accessed by those in their main metropolitan market. Then consider that, in times when the heat is on (police are cracking down on either individuals or motel operators), they merely use the aforementioned laptop to book a discounted hotel/motel room in a nearby community just prior to announcing "visiting (suburb or nearby city) for 7 days, book now!".

It takes a little while for most any hotel/motel to be absolutely sure that a woman is selling sex on the premises and, with women, the proprietors are inclined to err on the side of caution before confronting what is often an attractive female with such accusations.

Those who have been at this game for a long while are probably pretty good at reducing the obvious foot traffic and other signs that indeed she is being paid to have sex right there in her hotel room.

It might be a lot easier to avoid looking like a hooker in 2009 than it was in 1979, and that is part of the challenge for hotel proprietors and for police alike. Back in the day there was more public outcry in situations where prostitution itself had to be more public to begin with. These days it is a very stealthful operation to bring buyer and seller together on the internet, and websites geared to doing just that do a thriving business, all under the umbrella of free speech. Occasionally the law comes up with a new adjustment to various things that can or cannot be said/arranged on a website like this, and it is then when the websites close ranks and only allow those already signed-up to read the more juicy details contained therein. Outsiders are presented only with the most basic advertisements for "companionship" and for time spent in the company of a woman.

The girl I recent met, who turned 18 just this year, has already been shuttling back and forth to various local suburbs for days at a time. When we met, she was plying her trade roughly 20 miles and perhaps worlds apart from her former high school. I don’t have a great sense for how much business she gets, or how much she needs or wants in order to pay the bills, both present and upcoming. I do have a sense for how often she posts on Craigslist and other local online areas, and she certainly doesn’t seem to be breaking the bank at Craigslist $5 or $10 at a time. (some girls put up many Craigslist ads a day at those rates)

Unfortunately Craigslist has seen fit to disallow adult ads from "pregnant" women and that really hurts the ability of this young woman to reach her core interest group. Furthermore, it also creates the strong possibility that some men, seeing a random young woman of interest, would follow their interest in the woman pictured only to find her filled-out and extremely pregnant upon arrival at her motel room. That can create a bad situation in which the man is dissatisfied and feeling as if he had been misled, and she is there, alone with him in her motel room while trying to resolve the situation.

Apparently Craigslist had a situation where a woman answering an ad by someone presumably selling infant clothes was found murdered for her unborn child. Of course that didn’t relate in any way to prostitution, and while I can understand the shared concerns, I’m guessing Craigslist hasn’t outlawed the purchase or sale of baby clothing on its website.

So I have been sifting through lots of Craigslist ads and those from competitive websites like backpage.com in recent days. (browse backpage.com for the most telling photo ads) There are scores upon scores of very attractive, yet real-world women who are all selling their sexual company for the taking. (note: after just a few clicks in a new state, I discovered a holiday traveler from my area who is selling her sex in what is likely the hometown of her family, halfway across the country)

I can partially share the intrigue had by some men who might wish to dip their wicks into as many different candleholders as they can find, but while my eyes study the young, permissive flesh pictured at Backpage.com I truly don’t know what I would do if I had to sample scores upon scores of the options. What really is the difference between one blond, young, firm and curvy woman who will say "yes" and another young, blond, firm and curvy woman who will say yes?

It seems that published porn has air-brushed so many nude female forms over the years that anyone who takes her own genuine picture and then affixes it to a suggestion that she can be fucked, for a price, is made to look relatively immaculate, mostly just for being/seeming real. In some ways it is a glorious world in which we live, and in other ways that is downright scary.

These young women or the unseen operators behind some of them are certainly enterprising individuals and it is their combined variety that makes each of them seem so attention-grabbing. I don’t know when it ever stops for those men who are well-heeled enough to try each of the samples but I don’t really feel that I would like to find out.

Personally, no matter how many attractive, nearby, and affordable hookers I view online, I have a difficult time believing that I want to opt for any of them right now vs. a return visit to the pregnant teen I got to have sex with last week.
