manuscript submission

This Rosetta modeling / pentafluorophenylalanine paper has been dragging on for years now, but recently it had really come to the brink of submission, only to stall yet again when I had to defend my thesis, get married, and go on a honeymoon.  But on Monday, Alanna told me she wanted to submit it the very next day, and I knew I had to strike while the iron of her attention span was hot.  So I sent it out to a few labmates to look over, made all the last minute revisions to the text and figures, and late last night, at 10pm, she told me she submitted it!  It’s simultaneously exciting and relieving to have officially sent it in, but now we have to play the waiting game to see if it gets accepted or not.

Also pertaining to lab, Michelle sent out the latest version of the summer group meeting schedule today, and I am NOT on it!  Since I won’t have to deliver group meeting again, it means that my thesis defense was my last presentation in the Schepartz lab.  Which I think is fitting and provides better closure all around.  Plus, I don’t have any new data since then anyway!
