Getting back to normal

Things are finally getting back to normal around here I am glad to say.  We still have alot going  on though.  We are headed to North Dakota next week for Orientation and my parents are having their 50th the following weekend.  Then the next morning after our older son leaves for Denver for a week.  My nephew is coming home from Florida and my neice is flying to Portland, OR.  It will be alot of coming and going and my sister who’s kids I mentioned above just got a job.  I have a feeling she is going to be needing some help getting everyone to and from the airport.  That is what we are here for I guess.  We all pitch in when needed.
It’s been hot and humid here the last week.   We need rain and they predict rain and it just goes around us.  So it is getting dry.  But not as dry yet as it is in other areas of this country.
It feels good not to have anything big planned for a while.  Of course with our older son going off to college there is alot of planning involved.  What to take what not to take.  Hopefully all those questions can be answered next week at orientation.  I am not looking forward to it, but I am doing it for him.  I just hope he knows what we expect of him.  We mention it alot and I hope he takes it seriously.  I will be mad if we spend all that money on college and he just sits back and takes it easy.  He could have done that here and still worked.  Finding a job for summer is not as easy as he thought.  I guess if he was in the food service industry it would be ok.  But he isn’t the waiter type so that is out of the question.
Well this is just turning into babbling, have a great day!

I wouldn’t mind going back to work, but I think it will wait until next spring. I have too much going on this fall. I hope he finds something soon.

Being a college “kid” myself, my advice to him would be to do the work the profs assign, write the papers they assign, participate in group work that is assigned, and study for quizzes/exams that are scheduled. If he does that, there will be plenty of time for extracurricular stuff and friends. But to succeed, you have to take it seriously as well. But I think he’ll be just fine, mom! Hugs,

What’s your son doing in Denver? Do you have family/friends here? If not, you could give him my number, in case he needs anything while here.

Waterworld would be good for them, if they like swimming. It’s a huge waterpark. Also, Elitch Gardens. It used to be a Six Flags park until just this year, and is very nice, has a small waterpark within it. I actually have some 2-for-1 coupons that I got from work that I’d be glad to give them if they don’t mind using them and would meet me somewhere to get them. Dave & Buster’s is a good place, too. It’s like a giant arcade, restaurant, pool tables, etc. The drive up to Pike’s Peak is really cool this time of year. They even have an oxygen bar up at the summit, where you can get flavored oxygen if you are a little out of breath! There is an incline railway that goes up to the top of Pike’s Peak, too, but I think it’s a little more expensive. A drive along Trail Ridge Road in the National Park is worth a day’s outing. Oh, not too far from Denver is Dinosaur Ridge, where there are Dinosaur tracks visible from the side of the road! What kind of food do they like? I might be able to recommend some places to eat. Just let me know what they’re looking for.

How did the trip go? Are things back to normal yet?
