One more week
I am dreading next week coming. Our older son leaves for college on Saturday. It will be a sad day in our house. I am actually doing well with it. I am a bit excited and a bit aprehensive. I will miss him so much, but yet I want him to get out and experience life and see what this world is all about. I want him to do so much more than I ever did. I just hope he can stick with it and do it and not spend every waking moment with his girlfriend. He is going to be busy….16 credits this fall and 17 for the Spring semester. I keep saying he has one year and then if he doesn’t make the dean’s list or get a certain GPA he is coming home. He knows it would make me so happy for him to come home. But i can’t see spending all that money if he is going to screw off. So I can only say what I have to and let him go. I will worry and make him call every day. I want to know what he is doing and what he is learning. I know, I know I need to cut the cord. In due time I will.
Our younger son doesn’t start school until after Labor Day. Our state usually doesn’t start school for any schools until after Labor day because of business needing the help until after labor day. They just passed this law a couple of years ago. So he still has a couple more weeks, and then it will seem empty here. I think I will be working a little more and I guess I don’t mind. College tuition is expensive out of state and so is the first few weeks of high school. So I could use the money.
Work has just sucked. We haven’t been getting any product in so when people come in they want bread and the shelves are bare. I don’t know if something is going down or what. The big wigs were in town the last couple of days and I hope they leave soon. I am going to be talking to a lady from the other store tomorrow to find out what went down. Just what I need now another lay off. Although in October my old boss may be looking for someone to help during X-mas. Not sure if I want to put up with Walmart during X-mas though.
Such is life, things change all the time. Well I guess I better close for now and get something ready for supper. Hope all is well in OD land.

RYN: You’re right about the neighbors–the mean lady next door just about ran the photographer off the road the other day when she had the tripod set up in the street. The witch tried to squeeze between the camera and the curb, and there wasn’t a foot between her van and the camera! What a freak!! So I’m SURE they’re wondering where hubby is right now. hahaha

Wow–you guys do start much later than we do here! My kids started yesterday, the 15th. When I was in high school in Michigan, there was one summer where my birthday (9/9) was actually before school started back up. But that only happened ONCE my entire life! It sure is quiet here during the day with the kids gone, hubby gone, and this morning my computer wouldn’t even power up!
