Gone off the deep end

 I got to listen to a talk radio station this morning, something that I don’t get to do as much anymore since I quit driving trucks, but I heard something very disturbing and these people are in serious need of long term psychiatric help with possible high doses of meds and possibly even some electro shock therapy.

 I can’t remember the ladies name that was on the air this morning but she said that the anti-gun crowd are actually trying to get NERF guns banned because they are detrimental to kids and instill anti-social and violent attributes in them. These are toy guns that shoot either foam darts or water, and yes, even NERFS water guns like the well known and summertime favorite the Super Soaker was included in the proposal.

 These idiots have finally gone off the freaking deep end and I don’t think there is no hope in returning for them. These are TOY guns that shoot either FOAM or WATER. I don’t know about anyone else but I’ve never heard of a death or injury caused by being shot with a foam dart or water gun.

 As you might have guessed, I am Pro-Gun and I always will be and with that being said, I know there are those anti gun zealots out there that will say that even these toy guns are a stepping stone to the real thing and to that I will whole heartedly agree BUT it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to teach the child about gun safety and about the difference between a toy gun and the real thing. Kids aren’t stupid and they will learn when given proper instruction.

 We didn’t have NERF guns when I was young. We had cap, water, and dart guns and surprisingly no body ever got hurt or killed or turned into a murderer because of them. I thought I was going to die a few times because of my toy guns mainly because if it got pointed at my dad, on purpose or by accident, he would break it into pieces and made me watch him do it. He even broke 1 cause I inadverdantly pointed it at him while trying to take it out of the packaging and that really sucked cause I didn’t get to play with it yet.

 As I have said before, enough is enough already. The recent shooting tragedies were uncalled for and senceless acts of violence but there will always be violence either with or without guns and that will never change. If you take guns away, people will revert back to knives, which by the way are still in use today in violent attacks, and other primitive type weapons and we can’t leave out the using of our own hands as weapons.

 As the Beatles said….Let it be let it be.
