A few from the Gorge
The Group Home that I’ve worked at most is out in the Columbia Gorge. It’s a 54 mile round trip that I have never really minded; it takes me through Great Beauty.
The House is about a mile from Women’s Forum Overlook, the first good glance into the Columbia Gorge:

On the right, you can see The Vista House on Crown Point.

It was just past sunset a few weeks ago when I took these pictures:

That’s a bed & Breakfast, that tan and brown building, and wouldn’t it be neat to stay there and get up in the morning and drink your coffee as the sun rose over The Gorge?

I won’t be at that House tonight, no, I’m doing a graveyard shift at a House closer to Portland… but I still have to drive out this way.
I’ll be there until 6am. Maybe it’ll be a good, photo-worthy morning.
I think I’ll take a camera.

does your job compensate you for mileage? I can’t imagine they would make you drive all that much everyday and not pay for the gas.
Warning Comment
It’s interesting that one of your jobs ended up so close to a place you love.
