Assorted pics from Johnson creek
Ok, I guess this is the last of them… for now, anyways.
Here’s a reflections shot I really like:

Of course it’s edited a bit- sharper, better contrast. It is the way I want it to be seen.

Editing works on sunset shots too:

– made it a little sharper, added just a touch more red, slightly increased the contrast. My glasses are tinted- and the camera’s lenses are not. In other days, I had a Pentax ME Super 35mm SLR and a variety of lenses with many different kinds of filters and a polorizing filter too. Nature is a fine artist, but sometimes you have to manipulate the image a bit to show it the way you mean it to be seen.
Like this:
Leaving my friend’s house, the sunset was just too fine to not record it for all to see:

Keeping the base dark lets the sky show it’s best, and we don’t really need to see the road or the cars on it, do we?

Let me leave you with this shot of my favorite rose in A’s backyard:

The voting was about evenly divivded between Larch Mountain and Johnson Ridge on St. Helens. Some fudged and said they’d love to see both.
It’s a bit of a drive to get to either one, and at the moment, I don’t have anyone to go with me; and although you travel with me as I post these, there is nothing really like a companion on a trip, is there? Blacky Cat is not the least bit interested in going, and I don’t have any humans to take with me, sigh.
I’ll get to those places eventually- they are always there.
I think, instead, I will make a trip up to the Rose Test Garden in Washington Park. It is much closer, and conceivably, I could even take the bus up there. I’ll still be by myself, it looks like, but, well, it could be worse. At least I can share the expericence here, right?
Today is my day off, so after a bit of sleep (it is much cooler today) I’ll go turn in the school bus driver ap. do some stuff here at home, and plan on going to Washington Park tomorrow early in the day. Too bad y’all don’t live closer, eh? We could go together for real.
Ah, well, virtual company is better than none at all, eh?

I like the first one the best. I love reflections. It is too bad we don’t live closer. Cat and I would have a blast helping you find just the right pictures to take. Caitlyn is getting better with the camera all of the time 🙂

RYN: I’d love to find a realistic sounding and looking fake one to use to scare the crap out of them. Wouldn’t want a real one the cats might take after me with it :p

It always amazes me how still water can be, as though it has a surface like glass. You would swear you could take a step on it and not sink, but how wrong we would be! Beautifully captured refection!! God created roses to say He loves you! It’s any wonder men use them to say I love you to their favorite woman. This one is superb!!

Hi, me again.Cat when I was reading a medicle book I learnt that ‘weed’ can cause a disturbance to the chemical make up in the brain of the user. If smokes too much, the person will eventually experience a nervous breakdown, and end up in a psyciatric hospital. Cat I don’t want that to happen to you!! You have been through enough with being hospitalised and having a brain injury.

It has taken you all this time to get back on your feet and have a secure job. When you smoke’weed’ you are playing around with you ability to function normallyPlease give it up before it does irrepible damage. Believe me you don’t want to end up in psyiatric hospital.I have seen what is like when my sister had her break down. The hospital was nice, the doctors nice, but the other patients

are not the kind of people you’d want to live with for any length of time.

Please think about this.I am just telling you out of concern–not to judge or condemn okay? I saw my siser have her breakdown. She couldn’t think, couldn’t manage money, couldn’t take a shower, buy food, pay bills etc.She totally lost her ability to function. Cat you would lose your job, your home, even your cat. So… do your self a favour and stay awy from that stuff.

it’s just not worth the risk! Earlier in your diary yu said you like to be a good example to others. Is smoking a mentally degenerative drug a good example to give some one? If you answer is no, then stop doing now, and be that good example you want to be!

Ryn: I’m not from Portland or Oregon hon – I’m a Milwaukee-ian. Anyway, thanks for the note, and thanks for sharing your pics. I always enjoying seeing pics on other diaries. It’s like getting out of the house without leaving my chair. Thanks again, goodnight, and sweet dreams.

well you know what they say – you say Milwaukie – I say Milwaukee…It all sounds the same to me. So, you were here long ago, but did you like it? I hope that it was a good trip for you. I’ve been here just over 5 years, and I absolutely love it. I haven’t had the chance to visit the Portland area, but, I have heard that it’s quite nice in the fall.
