I dunno what to say.

But I obviously have something in mind.

I live in Public Housing. This building is specifically for the Elderly and the Disabled; I got to live here in 1999 because I had been in a car wreck and was pretty damaged, and the brain injury thing will likely never go away. (due to the fact that I test out at Grade 18+ in vocabulary, it is often overlooked that I have other, unseen problems).

Most of the people here are poor, some more than me (although I find that hard to believe; I have NOTHING) and some have more. We are all living in Housing and paying under the "market rate" for our apartments.

Just now, I went up to Pappa Murphy’s to get a pizza; they take the EBT card, food stamps. When I walked into the building, one of the more recent residents ( I’ve been here 13 years, and there are fewer and fewer residents who’ve been here longer ) was in the lobby spouting off Tea Party talking points, word for word, and obviously bought them hook line and sinker, talking about people who want handouts and free stuff from the Government and people who think that someone owes them something and how unfair that was and all the usual bullshit that the Tea Party says.

I was glad that the elevator came pretty soon; I don’t argue with idiots. The poor woman he was haranguing looked kind of confused, as she stood there by the elevator on her walker, looking like a deer in the headlights.

Dude, do you know where you are?  And if you think we’re all sucking the government tit, what the fuck are you doing living here?
