it was a surprise

And, it feels a little cliche too.

The local Fox network is celebrating Fox’s 25th anniversary on Sunday – they’ll have clips of "Married with Children", which was like, my favorite TV show then.  I don’t watch "The Simpsons" much any more, even though the creator is from Portland.

That’s all very nice and stuff, but the real surprise was to realize that it has been 25 years since I came here to live.

1987, April.

(it probably wasn’t 4/20, but it’s an easy-to remember date)

Of course, the first time I came here was in ’85, and that was just a visit, but it led me to move here to live in 1987.

If you’ve looked at my pictures, and there are nearly 10,000 of them posted here, you can see why this place felt like home to me – it is Beautiful.

But, 25 years, in one place.

Spring has always been a Transition Time for me, since my mother died in 1977.

Some things echo through your life.

25 years in one place, that is quite a long time.I think the longest I’ve ever stayed in one place is 12years and that was as a child.

Happy Anniversary Silver!

Isn’t it strange how something like a tv show can trip a memory? Old songs do it for me too.

Wow…I hadn’t realized you’d lived in Portland for that long.
