Dictionary.com defines "meme" as: A unit of cultural information, such as a cultural practice or idea, that is transmitted verbally or by repeated action from one mind to another. The idea of the meme list is you leave me a note that you want me to meme you. I pick a few random entries from your diary and respond with the following:

1.  Something random:

PurpleDawn is the diarist formerly known as "Mom2Some".  She lives in British Columbia (I’m pretty sure) in Canada.

2.  The challenge:  Oh boy.  I’ve read back through your diary, looking for a pic to post under the "random" heading and can’t find any of you, but I have found that you have had, and continue to have, many challenges in your life, so I feel that asking one of my own of you would be less than fair.  Let me add to a challenge you already have and tell you to persist in getting your husband into the doc and get that heart problem taken care of surgically- you’d like him to stick around, and although he is reluctant (not to say scared, lol) to get the surgery done and wants to rely on the medication he is taking, it’s best to take care of the problem once and for all.

3.  A color I assiocate with you:  I’m gonna take the easy way out of this one and say that the purple of the rising dawn is the color I’ve come to associate with you, eh.  (tweaking her Canadian-ness, lol)

4.  Something I like about you:  You are an extrodinarily strong person.  You have twin daughters who have been, to say the least, a hand-full; a husband who’s work and company obligations have taken him away to the US for the time being; a new house to set up there in BC; and reading back a few years in your diary, I see that you have indeed been a "mom to some"- to many in fact.  It would seem to me that it would take a large measure of strength to cope with the hand you’ve been dealt, and that the fact that you do so, for the most part, cheerfully, is inspiring and admirable.

5.  My first/clearest memory of you:  Was a short note I recieved February 13, 2005, on my post And now for something completely different: a post I made of an email funny my high school friend forwarded to me- a short note to the point, saying you liked the thing I posted; quotes from famous people regarding sexual matters.

6.  The animal you remind me of:  Ok, this doesn’t sound so flattering, but I mean it well.  You remind me of a draft horse, maybe a Clydesdale horse, one who works dependably and without tire, pulling your load and without complaint. (The Budwiser Clydesdales come here to Portland every year for the Rose Festival, and they are truly magnificent animals)

7.  Something I’ve always wanted to ask you: You have been a reliable and steady reader/noter of my entries. so what is it that appeals to you most about them?  Compared to yourself, I am a slacker.

woman in the moon’s son has said that these meme things are like a blog- rolling exercise, but I have found many admirable people here in the OD world, and to share them with others is, like, the least I can do to highlight other extrodinary people.
