Saturday
I’m feeling all responsible.
My biker friend is back east for his mother’s birthday and left me "in charge" of his dog, a brindle pit bull mix (of course – a biker dog, lol)
She is not wired up this time and has access to her bed in the basement. The last couple of times I went there, her dog bowl was still full of food – my friend thinks that the dog wanders and gets fed by a neighbor. I went down there today and found her bowl empty and refilled it. I took along my bag of mail – my shredder has dull blades, and I burn anything that has my name or numbers on it.
The rain is here again, but in a lull, I went down there and burned my mail. Izzy, the dog, uncharacteristically, stayed in the basement. I think she’s sad her master isn’t around. I’ve done this before, cared for his animals while he’s gone. Riley Cat died last month though, and I think the dog is feeling that too – she seems sad. My friend will be back on Thanksgiving, which I tell the dog, but she’s still sad – feeling abandoned, maybe….
On the way home, I stopped at the TJ Maxx I will be working at starting Monday, specifically to ask what kind of work conditions I’ll have – I want to make sure I won’t be freezing or something, since I’ll be unloading deliveries off a truck. I also wanted to ask where I should park – that lot is Full.
I came home and stopped at Papa Murphys and got a pizza, paying full price for once, because I’ve had four of the specials for the month, a five-meat stuffed pizza (good for several meals). I came home to put the pizza in the oven and checked the TV listings online, and got a good surprise.
Channel 5 now has one of my favorite shows on, "Married With Children", starting from the first show. It’s 1987 again, a better time. I was married then, living in a (rented) house, and going to school, looking forwards to being an English teacher in Japan again, which I had been doing since 1985.
Things didn’t work out that way; for one thing, the Japanese economy took a nose-dive that it has not yet recovered from, worse than the US slump.
But that’s another story.

"Jumanji", a movie with Robin Williams – a very good movie, is on channel 5 now, and I want to watch it. It’s great story.
*****
That is another aspect of the brain injury – I don’t remember movies very well and can watch them as “new” over and over.
Warning Comment
I love Robin Williams.
