Two more weeks of daily newspaper deliveries and then I am done with that job.
I will be delivering the Sunday Oregonians, but just on Saturday and Sunday mornings. No more dailies.
I will be able to get full nights of sleep again – I will no longer be a vampire.
The bus barn really needs mid-day drivers, and since that pays 1 1/2 times as much as the papers do, you betcher f-ing ass I’m going to switch work loads.
The whiniest weasel at the paper, an asst. manager, complained that we were "always" late to get our papers – really, he’s the only one who’s said a word about it, and that’s because he has to get off his dead ass and move our 5 – 9 bundles (depending on the day) and stack them to wait for us to get them. (the boss was hours late this Wednesday, after he had called me that night to switch days with him, lol) Fucker has lately just dumped them off the conveyor belt instead of stacking them neatly- messes up the top copy.
Yeah, a real dedicated Oregonian guy.
The boss called me last night and asked me to try to get there earlier and stop the complaints, and I, of course, lol, overslept this morning, and by the time I got there, there was no one around and my papers were stacked by the wall waiting for me.
The weasel must not have worked this morning.
I got the papers out before they were due though, so no big deal to me. I’m happy to have an exit strategy for this job – three years is long enough to work a job, and it’s time to move on.
I have something to look forward to!
Just after I got home this morning, I saw this sunrise and had to capture it, just for you.
Whatta guy, eh?

Such a beautiful sunrise. I’m glad to read that you haven’t blown away. Heard the winds were fierce out there and many are out of power… thousands and thousands.. Take care.

What colour! You’ll feel so much better once you get into a regular sleep pattern again…and you might be awake to notice the daylight.

Wow love the pics. I can relate to this newspaper stuff. My kids and I used to do two routes and I would do them alone on the weekends. Those Sunday papers are a B****. We only lasted a year so 3 cheers to ya.
