So.

So one of the ways to get out of that damn downward spiral of depression is to get OUT and talk to people – I am automatically "nice" then, it’s in my nature.

Today and tomorrow are Customer Appreciation days at Poppa Murphy’s take and bake pizza – ANY pizza, ANY size, ten dollars, a deal you cannot pass up – I can’t, anyway.

This time of day there’s a lot of traffic on the streets around here, so I walked the mile plus up to my Poppa Murphy’s and got a large, Chicago Style Stuffed pizza, that usually costs 16 dollars… for ten bucks.  I know everyone one who works at "my" store and everyone knows my name there.

It’s like that bar on TV, "Cheers" – everyone knows my name.

(been going to that store for over 13 years)

Everyone there is a woman.  I like women, and, on the way home, carrying my pizza, I talked to every woman I saw – "Do you like pizza?  Today is Customer Appreciation Day – any pizza ten dollars.  It’s such a deal I have to pass it on!", and I gathered almost a dozen smiles.

I collect smiles; at least I used to, when I got out of my apartment more, and today, well, I have a good reason to talk to pretty women – all of them, really, because it’s a good deal and I have to pass it on and they are women.

Heh.

A good excuse to talk to women – any will do, it’s fun, but one that gets a smile?  The best.

Today and tomorrow – if you have a Poppa Murphy’s near your place and like pizza, go get one!

(I hope you smile too)

Never heard of Pappa Murphy’s before. So, I googled them, and – holy crap! – there’s one in Grand Island! (It’s in an odd location, that’s why I never noticed it before.) And, I was already planning on going to GI tomorrow, anyway. Guess what I am getting for dinner tomorrow night! Thanks for the info! 🙂

I think there’s one near here. If I get out of the law school at a decent hour, I’ll go. I’m glad you’re still around, by the way. I was going through the bins of random stuff I packed up from the old place and I found your Christmas card and the beautiful picture you sent with it, and pinned it up over my desk, so I can look at something pretty when I’m feeling glum. Thank you for that.

That’s a great way to get out of the house and interact with people.
