tagged twice (edited)

Well, I got tagged by two different writers, but I’m going to do one for both of them and hope it’s ok.

6 weird things I do/about me

1.  I don’t "do" Christmas.  I don’t believe in cutting down a living tree to put in my house.  The last time I "did" Christmas, in 1984, I dug up a Maine Spruce and planted it in a 5 gallon bucket and took it with us when we moved down to Providence.  After the holiday, we planted it in the yard behind the building, and when my ex wife went back to Providence for a visit a few years ago, she said it was way taller than her and thriving.

Besides, it’s just me and the cat in this studio apartment, and the tree would look kind of pathetic with no presents under it.

2.  I don’t actually watch much TV.  I have a nice TV that I bought a few years ago, but I mostly watch the news on it, or videos and dvds, and not many of them either.

Well, on the other hand, I do regularly watch WGN from 9 -10.  "Corner Gas". a sitcom set in Sakatchewan, Canada, and "Becker", a Ted Danson sitcom have, like, grown on me.  I like a regular routine, and it bugs me when a channel changes it’s lineup of shows.

3.  I am the cat who walks alone; I don’t have very many friends, and my best friends live nowhere close by.  I have no problem being by myself.

It is kind of a lonely life…I should get out more and follow up on friendly overtures from other people.

4.  I don’t really mind so much being poor; I have few needs that are met, mostly, by my paycheck, and I don’t really really want all that much.  Sure, more money would be nice, but I get along without it.

Yeah, right.  Who am I kidding.  More money would be more than "nice", it would be so cool to be able to do things besides sit at home and watch TV at night.

5.  I have been accused of having no ambition.

I am living my ambitions here on OD.  I write; people read.  I take damn good pictures; people look at them.  If I could figure out how to make a buck doing this, I would.

6.  I love watching squirrels.  They are so graceful and flow over things; when I was in the Adult Foster Home recovering from the car wreck in ’98 and went walking in the park to regain that ability, I brought peanut butter with me to treat the squirrels.

What cat doesn’t like to watch squirrels?  As a matter of fact, my ex sister in law has one for a pet.

Supposedly, I’m to name six of my favs to do this too.  Ok, you, you, you, you, you and you.

(out of fifty some favs that means YOU)

60, actually, but some of them haven’t written a thing since last year, and I haven’t heard from others in a long time.  I have trouble dropping them because it gets sticky; readers aren’t necessarily writers.

Hmmm. No.5 is something I accuse J of… I had in my mind compared you to him – in that respect only. I know that’s not fair – for I guess in a way you have achieved your ambition ( a good job that you enjoy and are good at, a place to live, some friends and hobbies – a sane life). I hope you’re okay with me being that honest….

btw – one entry was fine, given that you batted your eyelids so nicely….

I love to watch squirrels too. Sadly, we have very few of them around here.

RYN: You really should get one. They’re super affordable and they work wonders. When we moved out out of former apartment I used a Swiffer to clean the shower walls. It’s very versatile… and fun.

watching squirrels: another thing we have in common. “flowing over things” is a good way to describe how they move.

I love squirrels. I love to watch them chase each other around. I think it would be great fun to be a squirrel for a day.
