Thankful
I suppose it’s "wrong", but I feel happy to have gotten rid of that job. So THAT’S what a full night’s sleep is like!
I did some math, which I had been avoiding. 3 hours work at 20 dollars is 6.66 an hour – 1980’s wages. It’s 2010 dude. I should have started paying attention more years ago.
No wonder most people think of me as a low life. Newspaper delivery guy is not real high ranking socially. Not college level work (I do have a 4 yr degree).
I was pretty incoherant, ranting at the former boss and the old dude who kypped my work, and I’d like to improve that, but I got to say what I thought and I don’t care if no one liked the motherfuckers and fuck yous and this is bullshits.
I probably MADE it happen, losing the job, but I feel GREAT, like a heavy weight’s been lifted off me. My car probably feels better, not driving the same 18 miles in the early mornings every day.
Burned that bridge right to the water’s edge, but I feel GOOD.
Onwards.

From what I’m seeing, 1980’s wages is the new black unless you have the credentials to nab one of those soul-less jobs! Congrats and good luck.

that’s less than minimum wage here. :/

Good for you. Sometimes the smartest thing one can do is leave a job. I’ve walked out on two but that was many years ago. The last job I stayed for nineteen years and retired.

Good luck Cat! Something better will come along.

It’s illegal in Oregon to pay someone less than min. wage.
