The day after the day after Christmas

So, I’ve been doing this newspaper delivery job for nearly four years now.  I am the most senior driver my boss has, so when someone else can’t do their job, he calls me.  Turns out the afternoon paper delivery driver’s father is in the hospital and isn’t doing well; she had to fly out to see him while she can.

I haven’t done the afternoon paper’s deliveries in a few years, and there’s less than a third as many stops.  It covers more or less the same area, but it’s in the daytime (duh) at around lunch time.  More eye candy, you know.  Stops that were closed when they got the morning edition were in business for lunch time, and it was kind of neat to walk in and out of places and see what people were up to.  I’ve got five Starbucks on the route – good places for eye candy.

I’ll be doing it tomorrow afternoon too, and then my usual Saturday Morning/Sunday morning routine with the papers on the weekend, so it’ll be a good vacation week.  Good thing, cuz the last bus driving check was kinda skinny.  I guess the Mid-Day increase to full time happened just after the cutoff for this check, and the next check will seem all that much bigger – four full weeks of pay.

(now, if my van will just hold on, it’ll work out)

I tried a different frame for the slideshows in the France 2 entry, an old TV set, but I get the impression that it’s slow to start.  There are a couple other frames I liked too, but if it slows these slideshows down and frustrates the viewers, what’s the point?  Some feedback on how the slideshows work for you would be good.

By the way. we did have a white Christmas here in Portland.  We are pretty low in elevation here, and snow is thankfully not much of an issue for the most part, but it snowed at around noon on Christmas Day, and kept up for an hour or so.  None of it stuck – too warm – but it was fun to see it Snow on Christmas Day here.

The Weather Service issued a Severe Winter Storm Warning for us too today, and it’s been wet and windy, but no snow on my routes today and there’s none falling near me.

Teases.

Woohoo for eye-candy! *grins*Light of heart,

I could send more snow if you really want some 🙂

LOL, i would not have thought starbucks would be a good source of eye candy, but then again, the hip people go there, i bet.
