The Eastside Esplanade 6
After recrossing the Steel Bridge, a loud alarm went off and a voice announced that the bridge was raising- I tuned back and caught this:

The lowest deck and the walkway are lifted up to allow river traffic to pass.

If it was night or perhaps just dusk, this would be an excellent shot:

These are the two figates and the Canadian Navy ship tied up near Big Pink, the US Bancorp tower, and just in front of the tower and above the bows of the ships is the White Stag sign, a stag jumping sign, which at night is lit up – a Portland landmark.
(The stag has a red nose at Christmas time)

Another view of Downtown Portland.
And one last view of the Esplanade:

It’s been an interesting walk- thanks for coming along.

That is a freaking cool bridge… I have never seen one do that, before! You live in a nice area… wish I could walk around my area like you get to. Too much crime here… 🙁
