This morning’s lesson
This morning’s lesson was: Don’t be early on my routes.
I lived in Japan many years, and have dealt with a Japanese person more than half of my life. In Japan, and for Japanese, on time is late. Early is MUCH better. On my bus routes, late is better. I ran the second part of my route like five minutes early, and I heard that a half dozen or so of my riders didn’t get to school. I actually feel very guilty for this and will apologize next time I see them…’cuz they likely missed school.
I was not unkindly appraised of this mistake this morning. "Not unkindly" – I mean that the way it reads. No one got in my face, so I am sort of impressed…but feel bad for wrecking the kid’s day.
"Later is better".
I am now a Union Member for the first time in my life. I had an appointment with Human Resources this morning after my runs, and have a bunch of stuff to read, and some things to deal with before next Monday. I have to get Fingerprints and a Criminal Background Investigation, which I have no worries about, since I have no official criminal background. I have appeared to be a "good cat", other than the DUII I got for wrecking my car drunk.
I have a lot of stuff to do and read and return and remember and to think about, but first, it’s nap time.
See y’all next time, eh?

oh well, now you know. 🙂 And I for one would not have been too upset if I was one of those kids. I loved missing school. 😉

It isn’t the end of the world, I say. Those kids should be out there five minutes early, anyway.

Poor KIDS? They were thrilled, I bet! But you better apologize to those parents. 😉

Isn’t it about time that you forgive yourself for wrecking your car drunk? If you were 5 minutes early I would also miss the bus! 🙂

heh, isn’t time a strange thing? I’m always always always always early to my classes, but it’s pointless because no one else is. Yet in Fiji and Mexico they often talk about “mexico time” or “fiji time” meaning 1 minute equals 5. And later is better. lol. Maybe I should keep that in mind when I get cranky at the public bus not turning up on time 😉

I remember waiting for the bus at -30 degrees. We lived in the country. We had to catch the bus to get to school, so we waited, and froze. Of course, we missed it a few times on purpose, then we got to stay home. Me and my brother.
