WAAAM ss: 36 Cord
Western Air And Auto Museum in Hood River, Oregon, has a collection of cars and airplanes from The Golden Era of Transportation. One of my favorite cars there was the 1936 Cord they had on display; this car had a lasting and profound effect on automobile design in the US.
The Cord used a Lycoming V-8. Lycoming was part of the same industrial group which owned Cord and Deusenberg Motors. Lycoming found a better market for it’s aircraft engines in private aviation, becoming the near standard engine in Cessna and Piper airplanes.

in it’s day I bet it was the greatest thing to have and all the boys drooled [gals too most likely] and it was built to last and survive a crash not like these things we have now days.
