wednesday
Today is another day, A new day.
Thenk you for the encouraging notes – I read many of them before I went to drive my bus this morning, and was helped to adjust my perspective.
Wednesdays the Middle School begins an hour later, so my usual run (elementary shool, high school, then middle school) was changed to an hour lay-over betweeh the high school and the middle school. I adjusted myself so that I ran the routes nearly on time, but a minute or so late, and got all my kids on board and to their destinations, no problem.
Well, except for almost passing a turn with the middle school kids, who yelled out "Hey, you’re supposed to turn here!!!" A quick check in my mirrors showed no one there, so I popped ‘er into reverse and backed up a bit and made that turn and said "Thanks" to the kids.
(and meant it)
It’s like graven into my memory now, so it won’t likely happen again.
Yesterday, I made the time and spent the effort to check that there were no students left on board at my last elementary kid’s stop, and will make that a habit. The little girl who didn’t know her stop – she does now. It’ll get easier as I go along and I will feel more competant.
I like feeling competant very much.
It was a relief to go on my paper routes this morning – I know them pretty well, even the Wednesday routes. The Wednesday papers come down earlier than other days because there are few inserts in them – last night I got there just minutes before my number was to come up, got my papers, and instead of stopping at home between routes, like I used to do, I went directly downtown and found my papers already down. I loaded them up, raced around (legally, mind you – full stops, signals, the whole nine yards) and finished with over an hour to go before I needed to go to the bus barn.
I got in a 55 minute nap.
That makes a lot of difference. Home from my long morning now, and another hour of sleep, then back to my bus I go. It is my night off the papers, so after "Lost" tonight, a full night of sleep awaits.
Today is a different day.
A better day.
Thanks again for the support, I needed that.

You will adjust, and perhaps you will decide the papers are too much?

Lol, I remember the days, oh not so long ago hehe, when we had a new/sub bus driver… I’m sure that your “slip up” (as well as listening to the kids and popping into reverse) made all of the kids’ days!! ^_^ Peace and health.

Thank you so much for the beautiful postcard. I have it perched on my kitchen window so that I can see it every day. It is so lovely and I most definitely want to visit Oregon to see these marvelously beautiful places! :):) I love the postcard. I don’t know how to spell this, but .. Domo Arregotto!!!
